Of all the pro players I've ever seen hold the shaft this comfortable was Cornbread Red.
Notice his middle finger curling under.
Those fingers seemingly sooooooooo relaxed, stuck out during my 60's college years watching him play at Janscos.

Great pic. I saw Cornbread Red play just once, in the mid 1970s. I also feel Jose Parica had a very relaxed bridge hand.

At times tho, they all curled under, like a crab on a rock in a relaxed posture with a slight bend at all the joints.
A very relaxed hand helps the shooter allot, by not interfering in ones thought process during shot execution.

That pic was the only pic on my wall in my pool room at home for years.

Until I was given a gift of a pic Mosconi. Those are the only 2 player pics I have on my wall.

What’s that tell ya?

If you need more pics for your pool room I can send you a picture of me in action................racking.
I have pics of me racking in action as well! 😂😂😂

Oddly enough not one pic of me holding the the big cardboard check at the end of the tourney 🥲

He showed me at Jansco's the nip bridge....this is a version of it, not letting the fingers touch other balls. Nice pic thx.

I'd say sam has the most relaxed bridge hand I've seen , tall young dutch player

Thanks for posting this. I have always had an extremely hard time making/using a closed bridge, but I tried the one in the picture and it felt pretty good/comfortable.
