Moving a pool table (2)

I want to swap two tables in my poolhall. They are SAMs 9ft, and HEAVY. They need to be moved around 20 feet. I do not want to damage the slate joins and want them to be playable after they are settled in their new locations.

Is this possible?

If so, how's best to do it, assuming no access to cranes or table jacks (if such things exist)? I've thought about the giant skateboards things mechanics use to get under cars (not that I have access to those).

Any ideas? Oh, this must be zero cost - no table mechanics can be bought.

Those are cool. I use car dollies that I bought at Harbor Freight. Just like those but a little different design. Jack it up, put one under each foot, and roll it anywhere you want (in that room) with 1 guy. Maybe not 'zero' cost, but not much more.

Actually, after looking on ebay, these seem to go for around £80-90, which is more than I'm willing to pay. Any cheaper alternatives?

There are 2 options. Get about 4 guys and pick it up and move it and risk damaging the seams so you have to pay later. Or pay now and get some equipment to move it. Can't have it both ways.

I have moved a 9 footer on movers dollies. First time was a disaster, I ended up seperating a slate seam and had to redo the table any way. Second time I used four bottle jacks and 2 x 4 cribs and brought the table up and back down evenly. It worked but the table still needed to be re-leveled.

Bingo. We use the car dollies all the time. If you get 2 sets, like I did, you'll have them if you ever want to move tables again. If you move your tables and then return the dollies, that would be zero cost, but kind of 'chicken sh!t', and you really didn't think you could move them for ZERO cost, did you?
