Moving a table 300 miles

I found a Brunswick Gold Crown about 300 miles from where I live for a good price. I happen to have a friend who will be willing to transport it for me in a box truck for free.

My question is, what is the safest way to make sure the slate doesn't get damaged during the trip? I don't want to pay $350 to have it crated. Will it be safe if we put some blankets under the slate, and maybe some dense foam?

Thanks for any suggestions

Transport the slate standing up strapped to the inside of the box truck. If the truck has a ramp for loading, just put each piece on a dolly and run it up the ramp. When you get inside, just stand the slate up against the wall and use some straps. Real simple and no padding or foam needed.

I noticed you are located in Phoenix. Do you think I could contract your your services to break down and load the table (it's currently located in Phoenix). I'll be in Phoenix on Saturday morning to pick up the table.

I wouold suggest you replace 'slate' with 'table'.

Best way to be sure to be sure your item arrives is to have a pro do the job.

That table might need a thing or 2 and moving a GC isn't really as easy as it sounds. One thing it will need is setting up!

THat thing is gonna be around for a while, do it right!
