Moving down south somewhere !

Florida seems to be a hotbed (yeah it's hot here too) as people have been flocking to this area. According to an article I read earlier today, the number of tax returns filed in this area has increased around 1600-1800 a year. The cost of living is lower and there is no state income tax in Florida.

another vote for Houston. I'm planning on moving back soon and would like to have another player of your caliber around there. JJ, Hillbilly, the Rocket, and a lot of other strong players live there.

Lot of good players in Tulsa. A good friend playing in the Oklahoma State Eightball Tournament at Magoo"s this weekend says that Buddy Hall is there and has moved to Tulsa. Also says that Jim Mcdermott is building another pool hall in Tulsa. Good place to move to you can go any direction from there and find tournaments.

Santiago, Argentina, in half a heartbeat. The salsa man, the wimin, da foood, and not to speak of the poolrooms as they were here back in the 50s..

Unfortunately, they don't have too many meltshops down there (si, me habla un poco espanol. si, mi un poco loco also)

Hey Shawn - what about the DC/MD/VA metro? since Davis moved away and McCready doesn't play much anymore, the field is wide open - you have plenty of guys that will give you a run for your money and plenty of rooms to choose from. the cost of living is not cheap, but you have several tours within reach - Blaze, TriState, Predator 9-Ball, Joss on the Jersey/NY side; and then Tiger, GSBT, SE Open, and Viking on the flip side.

guess it all depends on what you are looking for - if you need any help in this area and don't have a contact, message me and i will help the best i can.

P.S. Austin would be another great place!

Come to Asheville. They just opened a nice poolroom called Fat Cats. All original brunswicks to play on. They have a full house every day of the week with APA leagues. Could make some bucks giving lessons. Great location from alot of good tourneys...GSBT is having a 10k added tourney coming up soon and need some new players to mix it up with.

Hey Tigerseye,
Where is Fat Cats? Sounds like a good deal they needed a new pool hall and Asheville is a happening town. The mountains, music seen, fly fishing, skiing, golf, bicycle racing! I could go on about that little town! Plus my gal is a senior at UNCA! Go Bulldogs!! If you haven't been to Asheville you are missing out it is a special place!!

no state income tax in texas either

i heard there was this awesome player from mexico...cesar morales...he used to tour the USA...crushed everyone...:)

Atlanta or Birmingham would be full of action I'd assume. Cost of living is pretty cheap in Alabama.

I'm sure Florida is jammed up as well. No state tax too:grin: I'm sure you could get a place anywhere from Ft. Walton Beach FL., Pensacola FL., Foley AL., Gulf Shores AL., Mobile AL., Biloxi MS., or Gulfport MS. and you would be within hours of anything from New Orleans to Tampa FL. and Tallahassee FL.

No state income tax is true; however, if you buy a house, they make up the difference in MUCH higher property taxes... Seriously, if you own a house in texas, the no state income tax is not a benefit.

Take the airport road exit (exit 40) off of 26 and head towards and head into Arden. Follow airport road to Hendersonville road and take a left. It is about 2 miles down on the left. Super nice place and always something going on.

Big Bubba in KC!!!

We'll take you here in KC.

There are a few solid shortstops here in town to practic with (Matlock, Harriman, Meatball)....LOL.

Look me up anytime you are coming through town. Good Luck.

Duff.

Nashville is just about the geographic center of the eastern half of the U.S.

But amazingly, JOBs is really about the ONLY major pool hall in the entire metro area.

Cheap COL...no state income tax. JOB would take you on as the house pro in a heartbeat.

There are no touring pros who live here AFAIK.

Hour drive times to out of town action

Clarksville, Chattanooga and Cookville 1.5

Louisville 2.5

Memphis 3

Atlanta 4.5

Knoxville 4

Gulf coast N. Fla 8

Chicago 8

Carolinas 8

Good hunting.

That is a FACT about Asheville. What a great place. Have the real estate values gotten nuts? If they have, they will get whacked like every other place they've gone nuts.

Jim

The Tarheel state is still one of the best RE investments around. I own property in Chapel Hill very close to UNC and think it is a very good place to invest. My house is on 1 acre all wooded no lawn with a creek in back elevated deck on the back of the house. It is a ranch with maybe 1700 sq ft and the renters are paying off the mortgage for me so I can retire there. In ten years it's all mine no mortgage. The coastal properties and the very expensive homes are taking a hit but the small homes like mine are still retaining there value. Chapel Hill has one of the top public school systems in the US and of course UNC is only five minutes from my house. Cannot wait to retire there!

I almost went to UNC but decided to be a bum for a while...and excelled mightily at that profession!
