MP Cup! PacMan International Tournament

Yes, but I can't see Efren winning the event if he keeps breaking like he did and moving around on so many shots. He got out ahead 8-4 thanks to some less-than-stellar play from Morra, then finally won it after missing the 3-ball but leaving Morra nothing but a 2-rail kick.

Yes Efren had problem fading Morra after a big lead
IMHO if he can get into semis, I consider it a great performance from this oldest man in this tourney
Never heard of his opponent Medenilla but he is dangerous -5th and 9th in previous W9B and W8B
But Efren could be in his 3 rd or 4th wind and I fancy him getting into semis
:grin-square:

 At least he is still there battling it out with the younger ones. He got lucky again.

Next live stream match (final 8):

Corteza vs Guevarra

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cUoThyJfPw

too bad they should show Biado v Alex
Have not seen these 2 match up before

I'm surprised that no taiwanese, chinese, or japanese plays in this tournament. Anybody has an idea why ?

Some of Taiwanese are rolling into town tomorrow for Doubles event
The payday for Doubles events is much more lucrative- Prizefund $100K double that of singles $50K. Winning doubles get $40K so $20K each. That is way much better than singles winner prize of $13K. Work only 50% in doubles compared to singles but get almost double pay of singles:)

They are real stars, aren't they ? 13K is not good enough

This Guevarra who is playing Corteza is not exactly unknown
He was 1999 Asian Snooker champ who converted to play pool.

Are you getting anything on the stream for the 4 pm semi-final?

Edit -- it just came up, 26 min. late -- Pulpul/Biado

Not yet. I am thinking Efren's last match took a long time to finish and they are letting the old man rest a bit. Wonder if he still has some gas left in the tank. I have a feeling Biado is going to snap this off. Hope they show his match against Pulpul on the tv table next.

==================

EDIT: It is on now. Biado vs Pulpul.

I'm not sure, but I think the score in the Reyes/Guevarra match is about 5-3 Efren. But no score cards visible.

Edit -- I just checked the chat, and they say it is 4-3 Guevarra. So I don't know.

Game 14. P. broke dry. B. made a nice thin cut on the 1, made 2 in the side, then 3/10 combo with the 10 hanging in the corner.

Game 15. B&R for B.

Score now 8 Pulpul, 7 Biado; they are on a break.

crazy stuff
Pulpul finally potted the respotted 10b into top right corner pocket and wins 9-8
Biado is stunned
I hope Efren beats Pulpul in final. Biado is more deserving finalist :grin-square:
