2023 was sold out in two hours. I'm local and had a question about rooming, by the time matchroom responded two hours later it was sold out

Good luck on the waitlist, I've been on it since 3/20 and i haven't heard a peep yet. I'm local and can be their in less then 30 minutes
I'm guessing the "Open" won't be open next year, and may be the first event of the MR "Pro" tour under the new corporation they formed.
Why is that iu2brich?
They announced one week ago they will have a full professional tour, where one can making a living, (cue IPT...), and amateur players would aspire to "turn pro". The rest of the non MR tournaments, especially WPA events, would be for amateurs. So I think to get into these "pro events", you'd have to be on their roster, and maybe there would only be a handful of non-roster spots for qualifiers.
Edit: this is my hypothesizing
But they did announce a full pro tour is coming.
It is almost certain there will be no-shows at the end. They won't know for sure until it is impossible or very hard to get flights. I think you're a lock to get in, being a local.
