Mr Hatch, I saw that one coming

Agreed

Dennis played his best, and thats what we should be talking about here.

It was almost hard not to be pro-europe in that room, I was of course wanting usa to win, but for me its bitter sweet because i know guys on both teams and one team is gonna lose. Like I said unless you were there you just dont get it. The energy there was amazing and it was hard not to get pumped up for Europe, The passion of the fans has a effect on everyone, except maybe SVB if he couldnt hear them and I doubt that, the joint was shaking like a rock concert. It was the most intense pool atmosphere I ever saw. Ever in 25 years.

Dennis is a great champion and wanted it as much as anyone if not more, we all make mistake's-he went long at the wrong time, So what??? He played his ass off. I played with that cue and I could see how with just a little bit of adrenalin the rock will go long, same thing happened on the 5 on 5 opening match, we should have won that match. There was a few times we went long out there on shots that cost us big, we never came up short. The players room table was broke in cloth and much slower, it was useless to practice on, other than to warm up your arm because the difference was huge. What really got us was the break, we lost because of the break-they use that break on the Euro Tour so that gives the Euro's a big advantage. The break beat us, so said everyone on our team-who here has the credentials to argue with them?? No one thats who.

Its complete and total low class bullshit to pin the loss on ANY of our guys. After it was over I spoke to Nick in the room for over a hour, JA and SVB were in and out as well, nobody was pissed at anyone, there was disappointment for sure but thats about it. Nick left and went to talk to Corey after because he felt bad. Nick is a class act being there for his team after the loss. There was no hostility or finger pointing, just disappointment. If the greatest minds in pool arnt finger pointing, how the hell can anyone of us point fingers at OUR team???

Fatboy, I totally agree with your posts on this. Unless you were there at the match then you can't really comment. I was lucky to be there and it was a great environment for the Cup. Probably wasnt the best environment for our team because the European fans were very loud and went nuts when their team did anything that was halfway decent--and that is the way it should be. There was definitely a "home field" advantage and our team played very well. No member of our team has to defend themselves and we should be thanking them for taking the long trip over there, dealing with the freezing cold, and playing well in a very tough environment against a very tough team. People should really stop bashing the players and start bashing the fans for not going over there to support our team. There werent even 20 americans at that event (including our team)!!!

Thank You to everyone!! The support has been overwhelming and I Just want to say THANK YOU to all!! Happy Holidays, Dennis Hatch

Dennis,

Way to handle all of this my friend. Tough times build character... keep growing as a person and a player. I am confident that your best pool is in front of you and I am looking forward to watching you win a major tournament in 2011.

Enjoy the Christmas season with your family... talk soon.

Yeah, lets bash people in a terrible economy for not dropping a couple G's like its nothing, and right before the holidays. Makes perfect sense!

Didn't see this before. Very glad we came to the forefront and boosted Dennis back up here. Especially Jay's post; he speaks of what he knows. Well done Dennis, and hope you had a great time over the holidays and are raring to get back on the green table! Hope to see you again at the Mosconi Cup since you embodies the spirit of it all.

Why was he not at the Derby? Everybody else was. Has he ever been? Would've liked to seen him in the TAR room.

Not sure why he doesn't play there. The thing is, he is great at all games and could challenge for the all around. Why not give it a try?

Wow

I think that poor play on the 7 to 8 may have cost US the cup.

I saw the shot he had, though to myself, I'd make sure I stayed up high enough not to get near the 9. Then I saw him line up the angle he wanted, and I though again, that's a bit close, hope he hits it up higher on the rail. And then... he made the mistake that most A players would avoid much less pros.

I think that match is what caused the Euro win, going in with a win you have more confidence, you play better, but seems the US kinda fell apart. The doubles games also had some risky shots that you'd play in a league or a local tournament but I rarely see in a pro game.

This may have been posted earlier by someone else, did not see anythying in the last few pages, so here it it. Dennis, in my opinion, blew it.

And the SVB Duel mach was not the best played I have seen either by those guys.

uHHH yea, hang the 9, butcher it, duff it, or just swing for the fences... when was the last time you played for your country at that level and intensity. when did you come out as a rookie in 09 and play strong as death and win the MVP, all while wearing your heart on your sleeve yet a bull in the box? gonna guess never, if im wrong, i dont appologize cause really, thats just rude to say, Dennis played his heart out in 09 and 2010, things just were didferent in 2010 for the TEAM...you think it was that shot??? was it a big shot, sure but how many huge shots did he come with in 09 TO PUT THE euro's to bed and wrap em up in a blanket and turn the lights out/coma, nobody talks of it though? How much did he play the role of team player and trying to get things rolling...you dont know the circumstances, its a TEAM event and this yr wasnt there year, if you want to point fingers than just break em off cause that won't win any events down the road...In 09 on day 4, souquet came out and put in on SVB, HE PLAYED GREAT, credit due...Hatch follows with a HUGE WIN/WHITE WASH against Neils to turn the tide back...may have been big match, cup winning match??? can't say that cause SVB comes out later and gets it done! Sweat that! how strongs that! What a comment, "1 shot over the whole weekend lost the cup this yr by hatch" says butcher the 9b, even though he had winning record,(don't quote me on that but i think he did) Like the Ryder cup the mosconi cup wins and loses as a team!!! Dennis Hatch was playn road pool at 12-14 and played for the US OPEN 9 BALL AND LOST AT 20(???) TO Buddy Hall hill/hill and broke and could of very easily went other way but i wouldnt think of taken a thing from Buddy...u hear him whining bout that, NO, Mr. Hall is a Hero of Dennis's... AND now at almost 20 yrs later he is playing world class pool, he rose to the occasion twice in his life of under 40 yrs to be one of the worlds best if not the best, depending who you are talking to. who makes it to his level of play 2 times inside 30 yrs? so thats fine, Dennis and the rest of the team, you will be back next yr, no one should say a thing so rude and IGNORANT!!!! AND ALL I WILL SAY BOUT PLAYN FOR THE CHEESE, NOT TOO MANY BETTER THAN HATCH PLAYN FOR THE CHEDDAR!!!! IMHO, HE IS 1 OF THE MOST FEARED ALONG WITH A FEW OTHERS, MAYBE SOME OF US WOULD CUT OFF A TOE FOR HIS TALENT BUT MAYBE THATS NOT WHAT HE WANTS 100%, MAYBE IT ISNT ANY1 ELSE'S BUSINESS BUT HIS...LIFE YOUR LIFE, AND I DONT SEE HIM BACKIN DOWN FOR THE CHEESE EVER!!! AS FAR AS HIS LIFE, GIVE EM A REST OR POST UP!!!J
