Mr. Strickland Goes to Philippines

It was like he got into a time machine in that tournament- there was a lot of vintage Earl in that tournament.
Yup, not many ever get to say they beat SVB and Shaw back-to-back, let alone by a combined score of 18-6. When Earl is at his best, it's absolutely amazing to watch his confidence and the ease in which he runs out. Never seen anyone else play THAT well and THAT confident. Makes everything look easy.

I remember seeing Earl play during the late 80's and 90's and none of todays players have left an impression on me as he did in those years.
There's not a player then or now who could string racks together like Earl did back then. If Earl were 25 or 30 today and playing like he did none of today's players as good as they are would want to see their names next to Earl's on the Flo chart!

I'm convinced if Earl leaves his long cue and go back to default he might play OK again, I am not saying he'll play perfect cause of his age ofcourse, but he'll do better with normal length cue.

Plus why is he shooting with j flowers CF? I tried the j flowers CF, it doesn't even feel like a CF. He should try Cuetec CF, or REVO.

Yes, but this picture is from 1984 when they were both in their mid-twenties. Jean, who was already competing by the age of ten, was already competing for many years before Billiards Digest even existed.

Nonetheless, what a picture! It's how many of us prefer to remember these two legends. Thanks for sharing!

He has alternated between long and short cues over the past 13 years or so and if anything, he’s played better with the long cue
