Mr 'T'

yep

I have a bacote Tucker and it plays better than my other more expensive cues. Mine has a bacote forearm, butt sleeve and BEM handle.:)
Thats a nice piece you have there. Murray knows his wood.

Lol...truer words, Joey. Murray may think Bacote is 'ugly'...but this cue darn near plays itself! :D

I still cannot believe how amazingly well this wood transfers feedback, and in this cue, how well it plays....I am finding it very difficult to put the darn thing down...I just adore it! I am winning games against some of the very good local shooters, that I just couldn't quite take before, and that is incredibly satisfying. :D And the fact that I am doing it with, as far as they are concerned, some non-decript 'pete', makes it even more so....lol...it's very cool.

For those who think that Bacote is an 'ugly' wood....try playing with it before you pass final judgement. It may not be the prettiest wood on the block, but what it may lack in terms of aesthetics, it most certainly makes up for in playability!! :) And the shaftwood is the same color as the BEM forearm, not a bleached white...very nice. I just cannot find anything about this cue that I do not like! Of course, the 'special' tip Murray used on this cue doesn't hurt things either. ;)

We were discussing playability. You also know your wood and I think agree that Bocote has very good playing characteristics.

Bocote on maple makes for great hitting combo imo.
I'd put a bocote pete up there against thousand dollar cues in playability any day.
No A-joint, great natural balance and as mentioned great feedback.
Smells like mustard too.

Scratch 'n' sniff, eh? ;) I may have to check it out...lol.

BTW, Joey....the boco cue you made for Jazz is very, very nice as well. He seems to be very proud of it...as should be...nice ringwork you do, and it's a great piece of boco! I bet it plays like a monster as well!! :D

I had not even planned on picking up another cue at this time...trying to save back for a another cue...when the opportunity presented itself. Understanding immediately the rarity of such an opportunity, and a nod from the SO, I made the leap...and so very glad I did. Definitely no buyer's remorse here!! And as the previous owner stated, both the cue and I seemed a natural fit. :D

Ahh...and yes, Mr Joey B definitely knows his woods as well!! :D :D

Nice cue, it looks very similar to my new Bacote & BEM Josey (avatar). I love mine too!

It's difficult to see the details of your cue from your avatar pic...it's cool if you want post a larger pic here. :)

tips?

I tried to post pics, but it said the file was too large? How do you get your big pics to attach?

Yeah, the pic size is normally limited to 100Kb. I normally resize and then I usually save in a .gif format, because .gif files are generally smaller than .jpg files. But some others may be able to help you out, or you could open up a photobucket account....and then link the URL.

A simple design with extra pretty wood. It tries to go unnoticed but it is just too beautiful.
