I have never posted anything on the AZ site before so here it is.

Here are two Burton Spain Cues. The one without a wrap was purchased in approximately 1967 the one with the wrap in approximately 1970.

I would like to know if any of you veteran collectors have ever seen:

A Spain cue with a joint like the cue pictured with a wrap?
A Spain cue made without a wrap?
A Spain cue with a clear window?

Thanks for taking the time to look, I welcome your feedback.

Rob

lol. why are the pins in the butt. ive never seen spains like this. ive only seen a handfull. i always wondered why he put the pin in the shaft. i guess so you have to go to him for any work. thats why alot of ppl use odd ball pins today

Those look like great cues. It's the first time I've seen any with joints like this, but I haven't seen very many early Spain's.

If you have not done so already, I would contact Joel Hercek to see if he has any information on your cues. He is a great guy to deal with.

I have seen the pinned butt, the crazy inlays, but never that small metal (brass) joint collar, or the buttsleeve clear window. These must certainly have been during his experimental period right after he finished making pencils. Rare, even among Spains.
