my 2016 MONSTER Jim Pierce Cue- Cocobolo with Flame Veneers

A cocobolo with flame veneers , SW style rings and Curly Maple handle.

2 shafts - Old growth shaft and Bowling Alley shaft

I am usually not a big fan of dark wood forearms. I like dark points into light wood generally, especially ebony or cocobolo into figured maple. But this cue is really sweet. I do like the look.

Very nice handle wood, and I like the use of the woods in general. :smile:

Really nice cue. I think your handle is quilted maple, not curly, and it is gorgeous. :smile:

I would probably call it quilted as well. But I think there is wiggle room in the terminology.


Call it figured and everybody is happy. :grin:

Nice woods there! I hear nothing but good things about Jim Pierce cues and most of the look nice too.

Quilted is usually from big leaf maple, different tree than curly maple that is normally used. Softer wood, but it looks great and I think it makes a fantastic handle from the few cues I've had with it.
