Formulate it after JAI ALAI!!!! That's right. Bring it into the race and sports books and off track betting sites and let people bet on it parimutually. Get people on it right now. Form a board of directors from within the industry and get them talking to lobbyists, casino executives, or whoever can voice their opinions to people who make the decisions on whether or not pool can be bet on parimutually. How would this save pool? I don't know but it would generate money for somebody who in turn with this panel of people could figure out a way to make it more mainstream and attract sponsorship which would bring in outside money. I mean if they could formulate it after jai alai I could sit in a nice comfy chair get free drinks and have a good time in a casino. How long does a jai alai game take an hour? You get to see multiple players play you could play teams and best of all you could bet on it or just watch with no bet. Think about it and what it could lead to. Much more to say want to hear some replies first.

Well, there's no law that I know of against a casino making book on a pool tournament, so you have to ask yourself why they don't. You might start by doing a little research to find out if any casinos have in the past and how it worked out for them. You just might find your answer.
Given the relatively small pool, I doubt parimutuel wagering on pool would be a attractive proposition for the casinos. Just not enough money in it. A major event takes 4-5 days and not many people will want to bet on something if they won't be in town long enough to cash their ticket.

Too reputability dishonest of a sport. Who in their right mind would bet on players who are so poor they can be bought for a free meal.
With all due respect, did you ever bet on Jai-Alai? It is like betting on wrestling.

I'm sure there is a law or something that says they can't offer it to bettors. It needs to be regulated by gaming officials for one

Look at nba with ref a few years ago; I always read about soccer matches being fixed and it's the most popular sport in the world probably with fans and puntors. Besides if you bet on something and it is fixed who cares. Unless you fixed the game you do not know the outcome so what's the difference. If you so happen to bet on the side that was fixed to win god bless, if not you payoff not know the difference either way.
