Kudos to you for apologizing once you realized the info was flawed.
 
I knew there had to be an extenuating circumstance for the 'bad' cues.

For the record, I do not think that anyone intended to call you a 'liar' in the other thread....I think, given Keith's reputation, that there was a certain disbelief that he would let this type of cue to leave his shop.

I am not sure as to why Keith would let a 2nd leave the shop, save to perhaps do a local down-on-his-luck player a solid...which would show you exactly the type of people the Josey's are.

I am guessing that there will be no more 2nds from the Josey shop after the dissention caused in the prior thread. Your 'friend' should have been a bit more forthcoming with the info....would have saved unnecessary grief on both sides.

Rep points for you for being big enough to admit that you had been misinformed...there are others here on AZ that could perhaps learn from your example. :yeah:

Why not just go edit your original post?

Starting a new thread practically ensures that folks reading your comments in the first thread won't see the second.

Edit: I see you did add a new reply into the first thread - had to go hunt for it a few pages down :P

Keith is a well known cue maker. You can not say anything in this forum that will take away from his cues, good info or bad.

I'm wondering why any cuemaker would sell seconds, at least seconds that could be identified from that cuemaker. Would seem like it would lead to bad opinions about their cues.
 
let me clarify something even though Keith may call these specific blanks seconds it is in aesthetics only. the facts are he does get requests for the use of these blanks on purpose! some players want as "sneaky" as you can get or some just don't have money for a cue but really want one, ya know kinda like a kid starring through the window of a toy store, those are the ones that hit Keith's soft spot and that's why he keeps a few of these around.

in this circumstance he was asked, by a customer who ordered a nice custom cue, if he could just put together a couple of low cost cues for a couple of friend's of his. nothing special just something to bang around with so he did. even though this has sparked some negative connotation, i'm sure Keith will continue doing his work the same as always and continue being the person many know him to be. i know i'm grateful for that and someday someone else will be too.............
