What the heck I got these balls like 3 weeks ago, and now it seems like every time I USE them my hands get kinda sticky, not peanut butter sandwich sticky, but... sticky.

Is this normal? Is the resin like coming off or somthing.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: IM TALKING ABOUT BILLIARD BALLS HERE PEOPLE!

....on a more serious note, try a clean rag and some Pledge on them and see if that helps.

Maybe you are taking too many warm-up strokes?

LOL. Or the backstroke is too long? :D

(The OP shoulda seeeeeeeeeeen this coming. Where's Smorg? Even toadboy would be funny in this thread..)

Have someone else touch them and see if they are sticky. It could be something on your hands and not your balls. :D

Don't listen to those guys... they are just kidding with you.

Kidding aside, whenever it gets hot and damp, my balls get sticky too, you gotta wash em. :)

I guess my joke wasn't funny enough to be recognized as one but your response is priceless. :)

There is ball cleaner you can buy or I am pretty sure you can just use some dishsoap. One poster suggested some pledge. Do some experimenting. You aren't going to kill them.

Sure, any detergent will clean them, and I've found motorcycle plastic windshield polish does a great job after they are cleaned as a polisher.

I have also built a homemade polisher, very much like the one BRKNRUN pointed you to in the other thread.

I used a Royobi 10" auto polisher, a large taping compound bucket, a piece of wooden yardstick and 9" paint roller. You will also need some carpet pieces.

I cut two holes on the side of the bucket low, one for the cord, and one to access the on off switch.

I put the polisher upside down into the bucket, cut a slice of carpet long enough to run around the inside of the bucket level with the top of the polisher wheel and tall enough to reach the top of the bucket.

I cut 2slices in the bucket above the polisher pad, slide the yardstick in a bit, placed the paint roller in the bucket, and proceeded to slide the yardstick out the other side of the bucket. It does a good job to help agitate the balls as they roll.

I also cut a circle piece of carpet to fit the underside of the bucket lid.

I can fit 4 balls on each side of the paint roller, so I can get all the balls done with 2 fills.

Just to let you know my second post was not a joke at all. It was serious. My first one was meant to be a joke. My wife and I recently washed our POOL balls with some dish soap and everything is fine. :)

LIGHTEN-UP THERE BUDDY!:) and WELCOME TO azbilliards- the place where you learn to be careful what you say. Because SOMEONE will always get you for it!:) When done like this, it's justplain fun. Wait till you post something really serious without 100 references that have their own references to back it up.

Gotta agree with Neil here, lighten up a bit, learn to roll with the punches {or flop, like Smorg. Where are ya, Doug?}.
