Bought a palmer cue off ebay. Love it but someone covered the butt in wax apparently. It has a strong odor. Anybody ever see something like this?.what did you do? Cleaners don't work.

Explain the odor? Is it smoke, chemical smell, sweat, cooking grease?

You should be able to put it in a bag with baking soda or activated charcoal for a week or so and the smell should vanish. Obviously arrange the baking soda so it's not getting on your cue, prop it up or something.

If you have an air purifier, like the kind for allergy sufferers you can sit it on the top of the unit and let clean air blast it for a few days. The stink should eventually go away.

It is some kind of wax smell.
The above will still help. You have to get the smell to dissipate. Even sitting it in front of a box fan can help. If it smells like kerosene it might be renaissance wax, but unless they put it on stupid thick it shouldn't smell after a few hours.

A whole nine posts in two yrs of being on here and he comes with this gem. Might be going after justnum's record.

Send it to Proficient if you can’t get rid of smell. They’ll clean and press wrap for $25 or replace it for $50( plus shipping). Quick turn around great work!

What do they call the creatures that live under bridges in fables and fairy tales? I'll help you, Trolls. Brian.
