I arrived at the derby on thursday the 11th about 2pm. we walked around, checked out the vendors and az room before hitting the action room. this was my first time there so it was pretty crazy to see the amounts of sand being played for. ive been to valley forge a few times and never seen a set played for that much. we wandered in the bar and watched that one man band play (he was surprisingly very good). then george middleditch sat by us and ended up talking most of the night. that is one of the funniest ppl ive ever met. i know what everyone says about jimmy mataya, but you get him and jimmy together and your in for a show. i thought jimmy was a blast to party with, and it was a pleasure hanging with him and george over the weekend. we all met up in the bar every evening. i think it was thursday night when i went in the tourney room and won some cash (thanks derek;) side betting on that older guy that had 220 shots to run a rack in order 1-15 3 rail kicking every ball in order. other than that i didnt side bet too much other than flipping some coins and some small side bets. i also got too see pots and pans in action.... hes a riot. the magician they had there was very entertaining as well. i got to see alot of az folks, thats always a treat. timberly, nice to see you again. don (williebetmore), it was nice to meet you. i also got too meet/see derek disco, hal, jay helfert, lil jon, fred, pugh, big nasty, and a bunch more i cant remember.... please remind me if we met. now, i was up late with pugh and big nasty... so i had a few too many, i think big nasty thought i was his ***** and ran me back and forth to find out the spot/bet on scooter and some other guy... very funny nasty....lol. the only thing i like about valley forge better is you can get in some cheap action and i like the pit.... thats always fun. but, the derby is full of world beaters and big action.... and that was worth the trip, ill be back next year. mr. jay helfert, thank you for taking that pic, my step daughter is gonna shit (i didnt tell her yet, so shes kinda mad at me...lol). i never did get to buy you that drink, i feel bad about it, but ill catch you next time. i got caught up with george and jimmy doing there card tricks..... ran into a few miller lites, and it slipped my mind. thats about it, i just wanted to thank everyone that put there hard work into the AZ room, and let everyone know it was nice to meet them. see you all next year.

Not a trick, haha. He was part of the magic booth out in the main hallway. He was there working with another guy when we left on Saturday. Will definately be in touch at next years dcc.

pugh, i sat at the bar with him and george middleditch for awhile. that was scheduled for them two to get together. he told us that each of them had stronger points than the other.

take care,
joey
