I think I saw a thread about this the other day. I guess they really are teaching pool in prison.
 
Played some for a $100 in a place in NC. This is the Hilton compared to Turkey Quarter, NC.

Great pics that do stir a lot of thoughts....one of which is that how OLD are those tables????:eek: Looks like General Robert E. Lee may have played on them before he was old enough to be a soldier!:D

Also, if you wouldn't have posted a location on your avator, I would have bet anything those pictures were from a pool room in Siberia or the Ukraine or some other country!:D

PS-Is the women's bathroom wavy piece of wood colored pink or is that a one size fits all restroom?:)

I think those are the new Diamond "Worn Collection" Tables. They are brand new but have the worn look, much like jeans with rips and tears in them on purpose. They are very trendy and seem to be catching on in the more upscale rooms like this one.

So that's where the term "seedy poolhall" came from... I especially like the retrofits on the pool tables. Do you think they cut the legs shorter to install those fancy leveling systems?

Looks like a joint in Tijuana or Ensenada. I stumbled into one in my drinking days and played some guy some $10 eight ball. I lost the first two games and paid up. I sobered up some and won the next game and he marked it up on the beads & said "I owe you one". He won the next one & I quit & went back to the Blue Fox. John
 
My question is, what's the "SOB" in the thread title about?

Is this place closing and you're sad?

Or are you referring to that one crazy-eyed individual in the photo as an SOB? :/

i love joints like that, i have been in alot of them. The gaff tables are brutal when you dont know how they roll.
