My first 3 cusion experience

I went to Flushing Ny to the Carom Cafe and watched 3 cushion the way it was meant to be played. It was the first time I ever saw something done in a cue sport that took my breath away. I watched with the intent of learning but, couldn't even begin to understand the precision that some of the players could display. I must have been dreaming. If you ever get the chance to go to a 3 cushion tourney don't pass it up.
As for the location I was impressed the quality of the equitment there was unparalleled as well as the company. Two thumbs up and 5 star food. Next time you go to NY stop bye and say hi.

Nice choice to go support the event! I wish there were opportunities like that closer to me (DC).

Billiards games are great fun, IMO. Shame they have all but fallen off the pool map domestically...

Was there any Artistic Billiard play after the tourament?

Yes, there was a show performed by Semih Sayginer (cuetable layout).

Another Semih's Shot

Highrockproductions has published a dvd of last year's exhibition (2005) by 3 cue masters: Semih Sayginer, Roberto Rojas and Miguel Torres. It's packed with good photography and interesting interviews. I have watched this a few times, it's worth checking out:

I'm always amazed when I watch 3 cushion matches, or even just shots. Wish I could have made the time to go down there too. I have a hard enough time thinking what the balls will do off one rail, so I'd be lost after the break.

Neu, did you get a chance to play any after hours 3-Cushion with Dieckman, Rossman, Bryne, or other players? Hopeful you were able to talk with Sayginer about his masse' trick shots.

Not one game. I never had the chance to play any 3 cushion but, I did get the chance to play pool with Hugo Patino. We both tried my new Masse wand and it worked great. Dennis and I agreed we should tweak it some more so, after my first few shots with it he is putting it back under the knife.
Mr. Sayginer was busy staying in the groove and trying to win. I spoke with him for a few min. but, our conversation hardly touched the subject of masse. I decided not to interagate him as I know some people get disturbed easily while they are in competition.
I met my personal billiard hero Raymond Ceulemans and was able to meet some new upcoming stars of billiards like Miguel Torres and Ira Lee. I met many of the billiard experts from around the globe and can't think of one negative thing to be said.
No late nights for me I have been trying to limit my after hour participation...so I left that up to the gentleman that could still hang. My stats speak for themselves in that arena.
