My first nice(ish) cue!

A dry towel (microfiber towels work great) to wipe your hands and shaft clean. A leather pad for burnishing your shaft (McDermott used to give them away with their cues, maybe they sell them). Optional, cue glove and/or small bottle of baby powder/talc for extreme humidity. Eventually get a cue caddie or Tiger Paw to lean your cue/break cue against...but best to make a habit of always keeping your cue in your hand!

Best accessory I can think of is a good "cue holder".

I've seen a lot of burnishing pads and such on the sites? What exactly does it do and how often should they get used?

Wipe your cue down after using it, don't put powder on your hands, and be a little careful with chalk, and you won't need such things too often.

BUT....it's great to keep some polishing/burnishing papers or pads in your case. I always carry a couple of such items.

But if I see sandpaper or such in your case I will confiscate your shaft.

Though I carried a couple of shafts for my player I always had the gear to do a quick re-tip in the field if needed. I only ever had to do that once. Usually I ended up doing some house cues on a slow night. But that's pretty extreme.

Carry a good lint free towel as a first priority. Keep your equipment clean.

Ok well, if you noticed a slight warp that shouldn't affect playability would you take the time to ship it back to Mcdermott to get it fixed?

Thanks, anyone have input about a slightly warped shaft? Send it back or just deal with it?

They said since its only a few weeks old I wont have to pay return shipping, just send shipping. I guess that's something.
