BTW: Sex the night before always helps my game out. I don't know why.
My first 'tournament' was just a local weekly thing a few months ago and I was way to nervous for such a small thing. Needless to say I got destroyed, only won one matchup before out via double elim but it was fun and when I went back I knew not to be nervous at all and had more fun.
I know that's not very relevant to you becuase your tournament is more significant than a weekly nine bacll tourney at the local pool hall, but I just thought I'd share anyway haha.

Tips
1) Clean and polish your shafts.
2) Check your tips. Shape with sandpaper, and pik if necessary.
3) Make sure you have everything you need in case.
4) Get good night's sleep.
5) Eat right tomorrow,and before tournament starts (about 1 hr before).
6) I always warmup with bank shots.
7) Relax, don't be too anxious, and just have fun, but play good.
8) The first shot you see is right 64% of the time.

Thanks for all the helpful tips everyone. I actually fixed up all my shafts the night before, and shot a couple games with my wife.
Then we went to our Wed night pool league where I did great!
Then came Thursday morning. I drew a great player, and he wiped the floor with me first round. I wasn't really nervous, and I was playing really well, but this guy was just a lot better. Not much I could do about it. I tried.
The next player I should have beaten, but I let my nerves get to me. I was shooting well again, but my mind was rattled, and I let it get to me.
Now that I know what to expect I think the next tournament will go a lot better. I will be at the Fast Eddies stop in May. So I am excited about more tournaments now.
