My free pool lessons from Shannon Daulton

The GSBT is hosting alot of stops for everyone in the southest region. I participate as much as my schedule allows me too and this past weekend I won the free pool lesson give away from Shannon Daulton. It was great to fire out questions to a great player and have him answer. I consider myself a better than average player and focused primarily on banks and increased my knowledge alot in just one hour from the cannon. If you live in the southeast region I highly recommend playing in the tournaments. It's alot of fun, win money, and even free lessons from one of the best. Happy AZing

Welcome to AZ.

I think that Shannon giving lessons is a BIG plus to these events. It isn't everyday or at really any other event that you can get the opportunity to learn from a World Champion caliber player.........at no extra charge. I am playing in his next event in Chattanooga and I might luck out and get drawn for the next lesson.

i watched him warp up when he played jarvi last year in Cookeville and he was firing in straight backs so fast you couldn't see the ball and they were all going in or bobbling in the jaws.he is an amazing banker.

the long straight backs are his strong suit,
 
The Cannon

Shannon is one of my favorite players to watch play one pocket. His knowledge and banking ability make him a favorite to win any one pocket event.

I have a number of Accu-stats videos of Shannon in action and he is exciting to watch. One of my favorites is Shannon playing Steve Mizerak in Columbia, SC quite a few years ago. Shannon was very young and Jimmy Fusco was one of the commentators of the match and some of Jimmy's comments about Shannon's game were priceless. Steve got a big lead and Shannon came back and won the tournament with some very offensive one pocket. Grady Mathews was the promoter and it was a great one pocket tournament.

That was a great match. I beleive that was Shannon's first Legends of One-Pocket Title. Steve wins the first three games and he looks relaxed, happy, chatting with the crowd. Then......... Shannon wins the next 5 games in a row. In games 7 and 8, Shannon had Steve so frustrated all steve was doing was banging balls into the rail.:eek:

Thanks to all of you for the kind words. The bonus incentive that is

offered at my tour stops is just one small way I can give back to the

players that have supported me and the GSBT. Pool has been a

vital part of my life since I was a young child. Along the way I have had

many mentors that have helped me become the player that I am today.

I am very thankful to those people and hope that I can help players of

tomorrow become better and more confident.

Jeff and I had a lot of fun during the lesson. That is one thing I want to

stress about pool. You must keep it fun and any new thing you learn you

MUST practice.

Hey Jeff,
Welcome to the forum. It was great meeting you at this event and you play better than "better than average". I'm just glad we didn't have to play each other in the tournament. I was going to stop back in Wednesday to check out that league but I was tired from the classes I was teaching. PM me your cell phone number so we can get together the next time I'm in town and practice.

Bub, That a large stack of "Stevey's" on the bed from St. Louis if I'm not mistaken. If you go to the casey tournament this weekend tell Walter Scott hi from me. Don't forget to Jersey the tournament.
 
It is good that Shannon is doing this, its important that the champion's give back, they dont have to. It is great when they do. If I played like that I would do the same thing-anything for pool. infact i'd like a lession from Shannon come to think of it.
