my GC has been cobrasized

Thanks for posting the pics. Sure enough, the Cobra man did a magnificent job (why doesn't that surprise me?). Even the smallest detail did not escape him. You're a lucky man. Enjoy your table.

Well you know it had to happen, after working on what is probably the only unhacked GCII/III in the entire state of Texas. Be safe Glen, and may your next dozen jobs be as easy as mine.

Robin

Yeah, you're right...but I doubt I'll EVER run into another friend/customer that has kept their pool table in storage for the last 26 years either:D

I had a dream last night about fantasy island. Ricardo Montalbon became a game show host. Some hot chick opens up a big curtain for me, curtain #3 just like on lets make a deal. And theres glen behind the curtain, with Tatoo as his helper! Both of em doing such fine work on my table, it looks perfect!

Add another to the ever growing list of happy people who have been "Cobrasized"!

Enjoy your beautiful table.

Best,
Brian kc

Beautiful work, Glen.

I have a GC 3 that has only been recovered twice but would like to replace the cushions like you did here.

Did you have to extend the rails to get 4.5 inch pockets with the "pro cut" angles?

I'm pretty happy with the 4.625 inch pockets achieved with .1875 facings.

Are rail extensions the only way to make a GC play correctly?

Measure the playing surface of your table and you'll find that it's less than 50"x100" because the rails have been moved inward on the pocket castings in an attempt to tighten the pockets. Factory GC3 pockets are 5" corners and 5 1/2" sides, with 1/8"th facings. Even if you put 1/4" facings on, the corner pockets would end up at 4 3/4". To get the ProCut 4 1/2" corner pockets the rails would need to be extended by 1/8" inch at both ends, and the miter angles changed to 141degrees, and use 3/16"ths facings.

And then you woke up one day, only to find out that I had already been to your house, rebuilt your GC3 to play perfect...and then left on the way to my next job:grin:....so, how does that table of yours play NOW?

It really is kind of like a dream, something I always wanted but never thought I'd really get. As a player, I couldnt ask for more. All I need in here now is a bathroom!

Thanks again Glen, the legend of RKC lives on in NYC!
