I thought I'd show a few pictures of the last case I made. Its a 1x2 made out of 9-10 oz. leather.

I'm not usually one for tooling but I like this a lot! Beautiful case.

Thanks for the nice comments guys, it's always good to hear. Here is a picture of the interior.

The black one Rusty did is just as sweet. You will not find a better made, hand tooled(really hand tooled Sheridan, not hand stamped or embossed) case for the $600 you will spend. Enjoy

I know this may sound like a stupid question, but it's obvious to me and everyone else that you got extreme talent with how Ya case came out, but can you give me a quick run down on what envolved in the "tooling" process? (just a general idea) By looking at your case it certainly looks like it would take months and months to come up with something like that. You obviously got patience too! Great looking case and craftsmanship!

Bayou I'd be happy to give you a run down. First draw the design onto plastic lay it on the leather and transfer it by tracing over it with a stylus. Then cut the pattern in the leather with a swivel knife. Then put all the details on the flowers and leaves with a variety of different tools. Next bevel around the cuts to give the raised and lowered look. Then make all the decorative cuts on flowers and leaves. I'm sure I've forgotten half of it but it should give you an idea. I'll add a couple of pictures of it in progress.
