if you recall, the last time i played "Dave", who is an excellent player (1998 BCA 8-Ball Champion) i was pitiful. couldnt do nothing. i lost like 7-2, 7-0, 7-1, 7-1. it was demoralizing, i almost wanted to cry. so i went to see Mark Wilson to see if he could help. which he did, to a certain degree.
tonight i had my rematch with "Dave" and all is much better now. i still lost, but by much closer scores. i won the first set 7-6, then lost 7-2, 7-2, and trailed 6-5 in the last set with "Dave" breaking. he came up dry, and i proceeded to run the rack to bring it to hill-hill.
i broke the last rack, made a ball, had a tricky combo on the 1-5, and just missed, it rattled, but wouldnt fall. if that goes in, i probably tie "Dave" for the evening, set wise. he then proceeds to clear the table for the 7-6 win.
played much better, got into a little flow. made 2-3 really difficult shots also. however, i messed up big time 2-3 times, and found some things to work on. while i didnt win, i played much better, didnt choke, and seem back on the road to superstardom. well, er, uh, perhaps just being a decent player.
