My Match with Dennis.

Hey Guys, first of all I would like to apologize to everyone as well as every sponsor and of course Justin and Mark.
MD

I think if you had left it here or even added "It will never happen again". It might have passed as an apology.

I think it it just a justification and you have reduced your credibility further by posting it. I accept that I may be in the minority with this opinion and I may also be wrong but it just reads that way to me.

I felt that at various times in the podcast you were trying to get in Dennis head "I have a job", "I'm glad I've not done that to my life" etc etc. I accept that there is a school of thought that these "mind games" are part of money play and are "clever psychology".

The question is, does a player who is getting freemoney and with nothing at stake really need to use them if deep, deep down, he thinks he has the best of the match up?

5 pages (and counting) of you guys going back and forth....really ain't much different than the match. They both said there peace, and apologized in their own way. Sit back and see if they change their ways. Let it go already.
(I say we get a TAR event going with these two and EARL !!!)

I can't comment on what happened between Mike and Dennis. I did not view the broadcast of the match.

What I can comment on, though, is Dennis Hatch as it pertains to him drinking. I've attended *many* pool events where Dennis was present, and I can honestly say, I think I have only seen him with a beer in his hand one time, and that was in the evening hours of the Carolinas Open, after the tournament was over. He's also not a drug user, doesn't pop pills or smoke dope.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know who's using and who's not at a pool tournament. I certainly know who's drinking alcohol at pool events, and I can count them on one finger.

I like the tone of this thread, the way the two players posted to each other. I think that's cool.

I know I have posted things on this forum that I wish I could retract. Once the words are spewed from our mouths or fingertips, they're out there. We can't take them back. Nobody is perfect, but we can certainly strive to be the best that we can be moving forward.

We are all members of God's human family.

Hey, is that GTO in your avatar or a Lemans? If I could see the tail lights, I'd know immediately.

I owned a '66 Goat with His-and-Her shifter; a '68 Goat with Craigers, Gabriel Hijackers, and Hurst 4 speed; and a '69 Goat convertible. My '66 GTO was my very first car!

ETA: I just read your signature. It's a '65 Goat. Wow! Love it!

Or, it could have been a Tempest(all 3 had the over/under headlights, in those years).

Mom had a '66 Tempest, which I was hoping to eventually drive when I got my learners permit, but the car got hit by a truck...

That's true. I could always tell what year a Pontiac was by the tail lights.

My dad had a red '65 LeMans, but I wasn't old enough to drive it at that time. :embarrassed2:

I loved my '68 GTO. Man, that thing could fly. When I pulled up at a light, everybody gunned their engines, tempting me to peel off and burn rubber.

Eric, can you believe it about Gypsy? I'm in shock. :frown:

I have not bought a ppv yet, just havnt had time to sit around computer, but it was recently mention a match i would LOVE TO BUY... here it is! Dennis Hatch vs Earl Strickland!! comon that would be a great match

As long as it's cool with TAR and the sponsors, Mike's now got the opportunity to prove that he's the all-round package. He's gone toe-to-toe old skool with Dennis and come out on top. If he can hold his tongue and his emotions in the next game with the same outcome then he's on the right road. I think people will be looking back in 10 years time and say TAR25 was the making of Dechaine.

The match was awesome and entertaining. Great job Justin with the mics and entire setup. They both complained and whined back and forth but that is pool!!! If you can stand it then go find a new hobby!

Only crock of shit about the whole thing was listening to mike in his podcast state how he is going to change pools reputation. Its like hosting AA meetings then drinking on the car ride home. Hes an idiot for acting like a hero then making a complete ass of himself.
