Just picked this cue up from a local used to be hustler. Paid $260. It's an Adam r/a-7w rambow. It's all original except ferrule which was replaced when original cracked. Anyone know if this is cortland? Also the butt cap is held on by the weight bolt but the cap doesn't quite sit flush. Any ideas how to make it flush? Thanks. I can't wait to change the ferrule and hit a few. I was told by the Adam co. That these were fullsplices, I think probably Burton Spain style. Btw anyone have a bumper for one of these?

As you said, this is an Adam "Rambow" from the early 1970's, Adam's first catalog - an early tribute cue. They made both a linen and a leather version.
The pointed joint screw dates the cue to early 1970's too.
The wrap is Irish Linen most likely Blue Mountain brand. The cue has real Brazilian rosewood which is rarely seen these days because it was
banned from import to the USA in the early 1990's. That big weigh bolt screw does hold the buttcap on. A cue maker might be able to loosen it up
and twist the buttcap to the correct position (don't try it yourself) , or at worst the butt can be refinished and everything sanded flush.
You got a fair deal on the cue - it should be a good player and they are full splice. You could have the entire cue refinished by Proficient for
$85 and it will look like new - Scot would make the butt sit flush.
This cue didn't come with a bumper but if you PM me your address, I can mail you a replacement.

Just to clarify - are you saying that the cue had no bumper
'from-the-factory'? That would be my guess as Herman's cues didn't
have a bumper.
