A little over 4 months ago, I had an itch that needed to be scratched for a special players cue from Tommy and the guys at CA$H cues out of Jackson, TN. It’s a simple BEM players cue, but I had a few requests that were a little outside the norm…namely 3/8-11 ivory joint, old style maple box ring work, and lengthened wrap section. It was also made to 59 inches, with the short ferrules. Upon receipt of the cue a few weeks ago, I honestly could not have been more pleased.
Being that it’s the holiday season and we've recently had the flu bug at our house, I’ve not had much time to get out and play, but I have had this beauty out a few times for a total of about 4 hours. Playability, performance, and build quality (fit-and-finish) is absolutely splendid. The cue is 19.5, but it is so nicely balanced that it feels more like 19.0. I requested that the shafts be at least 4.0+ ounces, and they were obviously hand-selected and perfectly matched at 4.2.
In addition, the hit is very crisp and easily controlled---providing excellent feedback and feel on all types of shots. Definitely looking forward to logging some more time with this cue.
After a few not-so-great experiences with cuemakers this year (well…to be frank, terrible experiences), I was very happy to see this custom cue order turn out so well. [But being that these guys have been building McDaniel cues for years, there was no doubt they would do a great job.]
I know that I will enjoy my new CA$H player for a long time. Tommy and the gang have my highest recommendation for any player seeking a cost-effective, great playing custom cue. They were extremely easy to work with and delivered an exceptional value imho....as promised and on time....and they went above and beyond to make me a satisfied customer.
I’m sure some may disagree, but these little cues are MONSTERS in their own right, that's for sure.
Thanks, guys….wish you all continued success with your products.
Sean
