My new Cam cue!

I wanted a nice clean BEM players cue and talked to Chad (CAMCUES) after reading some great reviews of his work. Also, Flyingsnail was nice enough to let me see/hit a couple of his high end Cam cues.

I went with a BEM forearm, white linen w/brown fleck wrap, BEM butt sleeve, Ivory Hoppe ring, brown phenolic butt cap, and a chrome weight bolt. The joint is 5/16x14 SS with the nice thick silver bands in brown phenolic.

This is what I got...

Part 2

First, Chad was very easy to deal with absolutely listened to what I wanted for the playing specs. His price for the cue was a fantastic deal at $375! Can't beat that for a custom cue.

The first thing I noticed when I took the cue out of the packaging was how clean the work was. Not just the finish looking polished and all that but the execution of the work. You cannot feel the transition from the forearm to the linen.. it's lined up that well. You cannot feel the ferrule to the shaft... it's that smooth. And while I'm talking about the shaft, I have no idea how Chad treats the shaft but it is BY FAR the smoothest shaft I've ever felt. Even my friend who does cue repairs locally was very impressed by it. Nice pro taper and the piloting on the shaft was actually very snug. Not sloppy or loose like most of the 5/16x14 joints I've seen.

The hit is very stiff. Slightly more so than say a Schon. I would describe it as having a 'crisper' hit if that makes any sense. It has a really nice hit to it! I don't know what kind of tip he used though.

He did a really great job on the Hoppe butt. I've always wanted to have a bumperless cue and it looks really cool with the polished chrome weight bolt. (suppled by Brianna)

I'm very glad that I went with Chad on this project. The cue is above and beyond what I was looking for. If you are looking to get a cue made I would highly recommend dropping Chad a line. Thank you!

That is an awesome looking player Rex. So much so that I sent Chad a PM for a quote, too!

Let me know what you think of the way it plays after a few weeks, and after you get your normal tips on it!

Last year I was able to obtain a flat butt titlist conversion by Chad. The work done on that cue was outstanding. Chad does super nice work.

Great looking cue!

I was at Chad's shop a few weeks ago getting some work done and checking out the works in progress.... there is some seriously nice work coming out of there.
One of the nicest guys you'll meet, and he agreed at the very last minute to meet me to work on a shaft and put on a tip ON A SUNDAY morning before a tourney 30 minutes away.
Just another example of one of the good guys.
Great looking cue Rex!!!
Now you have me thinking about a bumperless cue..... and just simple great wood! Two thumbs up!:thumbup:
