My new cue....need some tip info.

Hi all here's my brand new Kenny Murrell cue that I got from Bama. As usual it was great dealing with him. I took it out today and it hits great, but I feel the tips are a little hard...I think they are Moori. Anyone know of a good, soft, layered tip? I was going to try Talisman medium or soft maybe?

I just have installed the New Kamui Medium soft on my playing cue. In my opinion, its the best tip ever created !!! I get great action on the CB and it just feels "right". So I ordered 5 more for my other shafts that do not have the Kamui. Then ALL of the cues in my collection (13) will have Kamui Tips. A Special thanks to Troy (Koinkid) for the tips.

I have been unhappy with the newer Mooris's and just had a Sniper put on..........I love it!!!!!

My cue tip is a medium le pro. I've tried a tiger sniper and a moori tip before but I always go back to the medium le pro. I have trouble drawing with anything else or maybe it's because the other tips are to hard? Or more than likely from my lack of stroke:D .
 
You will find that most will agree that the Sniper and the Kamui tips are considered the best and most consistent tips available today. This is not to say that there are not others that compare in the eyes of some.

We carry 90% of all tips in todays market, and by far, those two are the most requested.

Thanks for the input everyone! I figured I would give the current set up a little time to sink in since this is how the cue builder made the cue, and felt it would be best.


....and I am REALLY happy I did!!!:D I played today again with the new cue and manoman I now see why so many folks play with this style of cue:p For the record I was a hard core old school type cue player. SS joints, LePro tips, 4 pointers forward weighted....you know...

After about an hour today it all "clicked" so to speak. With all the aspects of this cue so new to me (3/8-10 big brass pin, wood to wood joint, LBM, HARD layered Moori tips, Wrapless...etc) I just let it all go and just played. I found a wicked unexpected stroke while playing a VERY strong 1 hole player, and won 4 of 5 games missing "1" ball I shot at!!!

While putting the cue away I noticed something I never saw while buying the cue. The ONLY thing metal in the cue is the pin. All the points are wood, the rings are all wood, the wrap is wood, and its real forward weighted from the Cocobolo reverse splice which is perfect for me.......can you tell I"m psyched?:p I was a little scared trading away a SUPER hitting Schon, but all in all....I couldn't be happier..
