My new Ginacue "plain jane" "merry widow" call it what you will...

very nice

there are tons of nice cues that pass thru here but sometimes a cue just grabs your attention.

3 cues on here have really caught me eye.

the cue dickie did that was tad and gina inspired, the cue that was made by a member with the help of dennis searing and this cue.

whats truly unique about it for me is that i generally only like pointed cues.

congrats.

Joe, congrats on your beautiful cue. It turned out perfect. :) :)

Thanks for all of your updates on my cue. Talked to Ernie yesterday and he said my cue will be shipped next week. Anticipation is killing me.

Keep in touch and enjoy your new toy..............

Best,
Jimmy

Wow that plain cue is something. I like cues of that style in general, but that one is really outstanding. I would actually rather have that than something loaded with ivory and silver, etc... If I could have either a loaded ivory cue or that one for the same price I would pick that one. Although the fancy Gina's are pretty sharp too.:p

Hehe, I like the Case:thumbup: Hawaiians Brians is almost my 2nd home now:p

Just an awesome cue. I really like the rings and that there is no metal in the construction of them. I'm a sucker for abalone and shellwork. Congrats.

Just saw this from the link in your buddy's post in the recent Ginacue thread. I wasn't a member here when you OP'd.

I thought I was a pretty hardcore points/veneers guy until I saw this wand. Ernie's craftmanship and artistic eye always takes my breath away. And those just may be the two most stunning pieces of BEM in all of nature. Where does he find this stuff?

I won't even bother asking how it plays. You don't have to with Ginacues.

Sick Stick, Enjoy!

My "Plain" Gina...

Thanks to all for the recently renewed interest in my "plain jane" Gina. As some of you may know, I had Ernie make me a super fancy cue prior to this one.

As many have stated, a cue like this one seems a more suitable player than the fancy ones and since my first Gina was a SS jointed Titleist based cue, the hit of this one is similar to that.

I love this one and don't see myself wanting anything else in the foreseeable future.

Joe

Still a sight to see.........

No matter how many times I've seen this cue here in the forums, I ALWAYS find myself with my mouth to the ground. I'm a sucker for plain janes, but this one I have to say AINT no ordinary plain jane. Damn, I should tell Ernie to change my order to one of these bad boys! Lol Beautiful cue once again. As my boy Jimmy would say " That cue is the NUTS! " LOL

How much did it run you, and how long did it take? I'm seriously considering comissioning a cue after I saw this. I have what I want in my mind already. :D

Cue Cost

I have been asked in these threads as well as in many private messages how much my Ginacues cost, especially this one.

Ernie is a friend of mine and I am usually in his shop visiting at least once a week. I don't know if this entitles me to pay more or less than anyone else but I suggest you simply call Ernie and ask yourself.

I will say that I believe his basic 5 point cue, if he will still make it, is around $1,700 and my "plain jane" was quite a bit more than that.

The ring work with all the abalone inlays is a ton of work and all meticulous.

In any event, Ernie is a sweetheart of a guy and as reliable as a swiss watch so I'll let him quote the prices, I'll just enjoy his cues and his friendship.

Joe

not thats its really important, but the resale of the cue in this thread is much better than a 5pt cue too. this cue is fantastic-I know Ernie too-call him and your questions will be ansererd, he isnt going to make $1000 cue(i'm sure of that)

I'm gonna have to agree...

Fatboy is right. I doubt Ernie will make a cue for 1k. My cue is a simple merry widow with nice ringwork and a leather wrap and that's costing me 2125.00 I'll be at his shop to pick it up in 6 months!

I seriously doubt Ernie has made a cue for $1K since he came out of retirement in the 80's. ;) The list of cuemakers with his skills is very short. Very, very short. The list of those that are still alive is shorter still.

Yup that sounds about right. Its a good deal and I'm sure it will be a great cue.
