My new JB case!

Absolutely love this cue.

Had this for a bit over a week now...

I don't have a lot of time so I'll come back in and edit with details.

But let's just say this, I haven't brought it anywhere yet where someone didn't as me, "Can I touch that?" or "Can I hold that????"

The smell of the leather, the quality, the comfort on the strap padding..

All of this case. I absolutely love it.

John gave me a very very good deal on the case and although it did come a couple weeks later than expected I would have waited longer had I been able to see the final product before completion. This thing is FANTASTIC.

The only thing I'm waiting on is to see if John has a piece of this leather he'll let me buy to use as a wrap on a cue to match.

Sweet case! JB makes some great, well put together stuff. I really like the rich color variations in the leather next to the croc skin.

I agree that would look pretty darn nice as a wrap if it feels as good as it looks!

Good shooting to you,

Kevin

Great case!

As far as a wrap, unless JB is going to split it for you (I don't know if he has a leather splitter), you'll need to get the leather split to use for a wrap. It's a cool idea though. Here is one that can do it: http://www.cuesmith.com/index.php?menu2=menu_accessories&page=leather (Scroll down to see a serious leather splitter.)

I think Castillo might have a good splitter too: http://castilloleathergoods.com/

You would have to ask them if they would split it for you.

Now all leathers are equal and not all split the same. So you want somebody who knows what they are doing especially if you don't have more to experiment with and just have one piece to get it right.

There are some "cheap" light duty splitters available but you don't want to use one. Don't let just any hobbyist who says "I can split leather" do it for you. You want a good, even, accurate split so the leather lays right in the wrap groove and makes a nice seam. The quality of the seam depends a lot on a good split that leaves the edges as identical in thickness as possible. A cue guy that's good with leather can blend just about any seam but the more work he has to put into it the more likely it will show later with age and wear, so it's best to start out with the best and most even split you can get I think.

Anyway...great case, and cool idea for the wrap.

Didn't know how much went into it.. Wow. Thank you.

I've got a few more years on someones list and I contacted him about this already.. Can't wait to hear back.

Unless it's bad news, then I'd rather not hear it at all
