So I gave John a call two weeks before the ICCS show and asked him if he could throw something together for me and this is what he came up with; an elegant four point four veneer cue with elephant ear wrap

GIMMIE, GIMMIE!!!!!!!!! Awesome mate. Sorry I couldn't make it this time, see you next year.

2 Weeks WOW!!!

You must be family. I thought the wait was years. I'm surprised that John could throw together a cue in 2 weeks.

No doubt. When I tried to order a cue they told me they weren't taking orders.

this was one of my favourite cues at the show.I know its been a long time in coming.
While it looks great, (I had a chance to play with it),it plays even better.I think there are still some spots available on the list via Daks21.
I play with one of johns cues at the moment, I cant wait for my next one.
Congrats Paul on a great cue.

i love johns elephant wraps, he skithes them down nicely-still isnt ear(but that dosent matter at alll-just a technicality), but its GREAT skin. for sure i have 2 of them and no doubt his elephant is the best period, i know alot about elephant skin and nobody is better with it, not even a close second,

John Showman builds the "style" of cues that are my favorite like MARCUS said "old schoolcues are my favorite" mine too, preferbzly origonal old cues, but for new ones John is right up there. very nioce congrats.

i also love the maple on this cue, no figuring at all, years ago i was big into highly figured wood-i'm older and wiser-it just plays better plane like this cue. i just took a good long 2nd look at it, wow. what a cue.

Thank you

Thank you everyone for all the nice comments and just in case you were wondering the Two Weeks comment was a joke!!!
The story behind this cue is very special to me and deserves its own write up.

John is a very good friend but you'll be happy to know he makes everyone wait their turn :) The truth is that I had no idea I was even getting delivery of it at the show.

Si, I'm certain Sanj told you everything and it would have been truly even more fun had you been there but I don't think it would have been wise to bring ATM to the federal reserve;) Hope you make it to VF

Paul

Yes this cue has been played with and will be played with regularly, I don't really have many closet queens in my collection. The cue has already seen some high level play, just not at my hands.

Eric, that is the cleanest piece of maple I've seen used as a forearm and as you know John does impeccable work. His inspiration for the points was from a Balabushka he had seen.

What about the joint Protectors"
Are they made by John as well?
There was a player here in Tulsa last year with a Showman that had a really nice engraved cap engraved "Showman Cues" with a sharp-looking lettering style"
Mine has just a butt cap made by John engraved in block-letters'
"Showman Cues", along with an excellent case by Thomas"
I am glad to hear You are playing pool with your cue"
They hit very very good!

Yes all the JPs are made by John, they are amazing too.

Paul.....ATM....lol! If I would have gone, I would have bought the same Szamboti Sanj bought from Mark K. Along with any other Searing, Showman, Szamboti or Hercek I could lay my hands on lol.

"It's alright......
If you're into very rare, beautiful, elegant and really unique things."

Sorry Paul, I could not resist the temptation.

I know this cue and the way you received it will always be in your heart. It is a truly special cue. Not only is it beautiful but it already had unforgettable memories before you even shot the first ball.

Congrats my friend.

Not only does this cue have a great classic look, but I'll bet it plays great too.
I would love to hit a few balls with it, just to see what it's like.

Congrats on your new Showman cue.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the case
