That is by far the most beautiful Tascarella I have ever seen. I would keep that thing forever and never play with it! It truly is a beauty. Congrats!!!!

THANKS I APPRECIATE THE KIND WORDS.

This is very nice, but has anyone noticed that this design, does not look like a "traditional" styled Tascarella? Way more modern than what I've seen him do. Mabey he's done it and this is the first one I've seen like this...I don't know. What I do know is that even his fancier designes were more traditional looking than this. Still a nice catch though.:D

From What I Have Been Seeing, Pete Has Been Doing Newer/different Inlaypatterns Recently. He Still Does The Very Traditional Stuff, But Is Now Making Some Different Inlay Patterns Available.

Sure thing!! Just look me up at the Amateur tourny desk. You'll also see the matching Justis case Jack made for me last year.

If you bring that cue to Valley Forge I will bring my car and we can make a trade. That has to be the nicest Tascarella I have ever seen and is definately in my top 5 favorite cues by any and all cuemakers. You are a truley fortunate man to own as many nice cues as you have but this is by far the best one that you have in my opinion.

THANKS FOR THE OFFER, BUT I THINK I'LL KEEP THE CUE. MY OTHER HALF SAYS I HAVE ENOUGH CARS ALREADY. ALSO THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS. THIS CUE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES BUT THERE ARE TWO THAT ARE EVEN WITH IT, SO I CAN'T PICK JUST ONE.

I dont get it?

I wish I could understand the point of buying a cue just to sit on for several years. At best you might make a couple thousand in the future but to me that doesnt seem worth it. I thought cues were supposed to be played with, call me crazy.

how about that guy in the forsale forum saying how he doesnt feel the cue is worth what its worth and such... people these days...

Marcus--> since you have the tascarella in your possession.. is in fact the buttcap ivory? that guy been going on and on how its not..

thought i would ask the man himself..

Tascarella

Marcus, congratulations on your newest addition! It sure is a beauty.
I got to see this cue from drawing and inlay concept design, to wood selection, right thru to the end. Pete is simply amazing! I can only wish you best of luck on it and the rest of your magnificent collection.

Hope to see you in Valley Forge. I'll be there Fri, Sat, & Sun.

People don't necessarily collect things for an investment, I can't speak for Marcus, but some people buy cues because they just love looking at them, holding them, even playing with them. But it comes to a point where you like the way one plays better then others and changing cues for the sake of playing with different ones hurts your game. I am sure that Marcus treats his cues well enough that if he hits balls with the cue nobody would ever be the wiser. To understand or try to understand a collector is pointless. Why wear a Rolex when a timex tells the time just as good, why by a Lamborghini when a Honda will get you from point A to point B? It's not something that can be explained with logic. You don't get it because you're not a collector, I'd bet that many people who collect cues used to (or still do) collect other things, maybe comics or Baseball cards as kids, or guns or cars as an adult.

The synthetic ivory is Acrolyte (sp?) and has veining like real ivory but is much more durable.

"That Guy" would be me.

That's what forums are for, right? To discuss everything about pool, which includes talking about cue values and prices paid.

I am happy Marcus loves this cue so much. It is a work of art to be sure. I am quite uneducated regarding Tascarella cues and saw a sale on Ebay that seemed out of line... Just wanted clarification and found it in fanatical Tascarella fans.

TO BE HONEST IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME NOT TO USE A CUE. BUT I HAVE A TASCARELLA THAT PLAYS LIKE A CHAMP, THAT FEELS GOOD TO ME. WHEN TAKE THE CHANCE OF SOMETHING HAPPENING TO A NEW ONE, JUST TO TRY IT OUT. I PLAY IN BARS, I COULDN'T USE MY NEW ONE ALL THE TIME, I'D BE TERRIFIED OF SOMETHING HAPPENING TO IT(AND I'D BE AN IDIOT) I ALSO DON'T WANT TO TRY IT BECAUSE IF I REALLY LIKE THE HIT, I WON'T WANT TO STOP USING IT. AND LIKE I SAID I PLAY IN BARS AND I CAN'T USE THIS CUE THERE. HOPE THAT EXPLAINS IT.
