My new work is nearing completion~YANG CASE

In before 'cease and desist' from Marvel Comics.

They are very strict with the likeness of their stuff.

Before design, we find out about. I belong to this Derivative work, and I was not mass production. It does not belong infringement. In the United States there are many such works. May I know is wrong, I will then verify this matter. If there are problems, I will not sell it.

Yes it is copyright infringement, it doesnt matter how many you make 1 or 10000, you cannot manufacture and sell anything containing someone elses copyrighted material unless you have a licensing agreement. Same reason I cant print up a bunch of Mickey Mouse shirts and set up a stand across the street from Disney.

Are you saying YOU made the copies of the Rex cases for Jiasen?

No, what he's saying is:

There are already numerous times were copyright's were infringed upon, by other people, including other casemakers; Such as Rex's Spiderman case. I highly doubt Rex got permission from Marvel.

He posted the pictures of Rex's cases as an example.

Edit- And before this starts a pissing contest (main reason I left AZB), the photos are REX's CASES, not the JIASEN COPIES.

I mean there are a lot Derivative work in the United States.
So I think that is legitimate before.
Thank you for reminding me.
I will go to understand the relevant law.
If it is illegal, I will not sell.

Not quite.. the bottom is ONE of the Jiansen Rex-Spidey copies. No pissing contest, I just asked a question to get a little clarity of what was written.

I don't know what you're problem is but no where did I point at him and call him a thief. I asked him if he stated that he was the one who made Jiasen case which is what it looks like he typed. See the ? mark.. so back the hell off.

JV

No where is his post, does it say anything about Rex, Rex's cases, or the copies made by Jiasen. You pointed out that there were copies made of the cases.

He openly admitted that if he broke any laws by making an Iron Man case, he will not sell it.

So what part of that leads you to believe he made the copies?

Back the hell off of what? A discussion that I am part of?

This is what he wrote WITH pictures of Rex's cases AND the one of the Jiasen copies..

I belong to this derivative work.. looks like he is saying he made the bottom case, which was the copy to Rex. I asked him if he indeed stated that very thing. Nothing more, nothing less. Just so you're clear the derivative is the copy. Since his pictures posted with that broken paragraph are the Rex and copy, that is easy taken as his point.

You want to keep implying I said something else you better get a dictionary.

Why would you pick on someone who's English isn't his first language? I'm sure he'd better explain himself if in Mandarin.

I agree with Copyright laws and the need for them to be enforced.

With that said why wasn't there anyone who mentioned this or crucify Rex when he made the Spiderman Case? Or Dean for that Might Mouse Cue? What about other themed cues like Lord of the Rings and Hustler? Because it was Made in U.S.A therefore it's ok?
I'm not throwing anyone under the bus, rather i think it's acceptable because no one's trying to make 10000pcs selling at $100 each.

Rather these craftsmen and artists picked AZ to display their work to not only get more exposure but to look for like minded individual who would appreciate their craft.
Yang isn't here to try to make loads of money, he is simply sharing his hardwork and craft with the community. Yes i'm sure he'll sell that one Case, but so what?

I know you're high and mighty with your Anti-China and pro U.S.A stance, but for the love of billiard and it's dying popularity perhaps you could just learn to be neutral. For a cue dealer i thought you would at least be open minded to that.

No one is picking on anyone.. it was a simple question. Or maybe not so simple since no one can grasp it. Heck I didn't even say there was an issue, I just asked if what he wrote was what he meant.

This has nothing to do with USA / China, manufacturing and it was a very neutral question. He said "I belong to this derivative work" while showing the Rex and the Rex copy. What it appears in English, he is saying is that he is owning that work, the derivative (fake). Which is exactly what he said. That is why I asked him to clarify it.

Maybe others need to be neutral and see the question for what it was.

I dont see where anyone is "crucifying" anyone. I sent Yang a pm yesterday to politely mention about copyright laws, while complimenting him on the case. I sent that pm after reading where several folks suggested turning it into a line of comic book character cases. Rex's case was an infringement as was the mighty mouse case. But there was no talk about a line of cases based on continuing copyright infringement with the other two mentioned. Thats the difference. Then today Yang said he thought (and Im paraphrasing) that since others have done it, and his was derivative of others work that it was ok. Thats when I made a public post about it.
Hope this makes sense.

Sorry for my bad english.
So I can not exactly explain what I mean.
I provide the wrong example.
I have seen many examples of derivative works.
Not only that cue case.
I always thought this is a common phenomenon in the United States.

These examples are legal? I'm not sure.
These examples belong to creation? I'm sure.

Sorry.
I gave a bad example.
I just have to find some photos.
I did not notice the relationship between them.

I am in favor of creation.
But I hate "copy".
I once had a work has been copied.

My case.

No apology necessary! ;)
I understood what you meant, in your earlier post.

You create beautiful cases and show excellent craftsmanship in your work! Don't let others, on an internet billiards forum, tell you what you can and can't do.
