Well ive been doing an exercise out of "The Lesson" by The Monk where you throw up all 15 balls plus the cueball. No clusters and nothing touching a rail. Run all 15 and put them up again. Each ball is a point, if u miss or scratch start over at 0. I got up to 101 balls and was sweating the last rack to get 100+. Now I'm gonna to try beat my record tonight.

Trying to get all practiced up for two state tournaments in the coming weeks.

Wish me luck.

Sounds like you've got a winning attitude. Stay the course, and good luck. Finally, as many have said, "the harder I practice, the luckier I get."

Practice you're pocketing, your beak, and your speed control. On the eve of the tournament, get a good night's sleep, eat breakfast on the morning of the tourney, and hit a few balls before the event begins.

Any advice for preparing for a tournament which ill be shooting singles in?

I like to practice the same thing before any tournament. Is this 8 ball or 9 ball? Cause you could always play the ghost for a few weeks with this excersize.

This is what I do a night before a tourney,

I play the "ghost"

I get spotted to the 6 ball by him. So I break and try to get to the 6, if I run out, I keep going seeing if I can run out, once I miss the rack is done. Ghost wins that racks, it just puts you into the scenario that you can't miss. It helps a bit also this has helped my game too.

Breaking a pack of 9ball, then running out once you miss put all the balls down table or up for that matter and then shoot that ball till you make it 5-10 times in a row I do it till I make it 10 times. Just some food for thought I hope your game improves.

All great, but I wouldn't necessarily practice speed control unless you are practicing on the same tables or cloth type you'll be playing on.
