Hey Zack...
Let me guess, sometime around September/October last year? I know all about cashflow 'issues'. I traded in a cue, and sold my beloved Taylor guitar in order to be able to get into this Skip cue. I had to have it!
I love Skip's cues. Is he making you one like this one, or did you come up with something different? What kind of wood combo did you decide on? Just curious. I would love to see pics when it's done. I just marvel at most everything he does.
This cue is awesome to shoot with! I have never shot with a cue that feels like a natural extension of my arm before this one. I really think you will be very happy with your cue when you finally receive it.
I think the conundrum with Skip's cues are that they are so magnificiently crafted, that you want to store them away, yet they beg to be played with. He definitely builds a 'players' cue.
I have had opportunity 2x now to trade out of this cue for something worth more, but the cue will not let me do it. Every time I pull it out of it's case, it just floors with it's simple all wood beauty. And quite frankly, I am shooting so darn well with, that it terrifies me to let it go in favor of another cue that may not shoot as well as this does. And you just don't know until you have settled in with a cue, how it's gonna 'suit' you...and by then, it's too late to get your old cue back.
Sorry....I am rambling....I could go on all day about Skip's cues...hehehehehe.
