My personal gripe list buying on forums, or eBay.

1. Poor photos, out of focus, too tiny to see details. Good photo increase chance of sale.

2. Poor description, with poor or not specifications. Good complete discription increase chance of sale.

3. Poor communication on buyer, or seller part.

4. Paying for something, and seller never send any notification of item shipped, or tracking info.

5. Buyer never communicates item arrived. As tracking is imperfect.

6. Buyer who do not realize USPS, Fed-X, UPS is not a free delivery service. Also extra value insurance is also not free.

Anyone got more to add for list?

I was interested in a JW on Facebook and asked the seller a few basic questions. Convo went like this:

"What's the ferrule material?" (sends a blurry pic of the ferrules with no further detail).

"Shaft diameters?" (12.8 - 13.0, not sure I don't have calipers)

"Weight of butt and shafts?" (I don't have a scale I don't know)

"Price?" ($4750).

Why even post it for sale if you can't give the most basic of details? Not a scam either - he legit had the cue in his possession.

Well the seller should have replied, let me find answers to questions. Give me x hours, then got back to you with info.

Ya last several years have noticed even on photos there is no shaft picture with cue on market. Not sure about most but i like see condition ferrules, tips, shafts cleanness and grain tightness on the shafts. Different times now.

Not surprising really...I got on the Facebook forums a few years ago and have noticed a definite reduction in quality of sales posts there versus here.

Bryan Mordt when he was still building Cue always had great photos.

He used simple gooseneck table lamp, and inexpensive digital camera.

Jack Justin was another super photographer, he was lucky living in Florida. As everyday was cloudy, and lots of clouds make light very soft.

My gripes are:

No cue weight
No cue length
No shaft diameter
Photos that don't show entire cue

I would imagine having a mandated template that you have to fill out to sell/buy things by communities that dabble in the transaction of pool stuff would go a long way of shoring up quality.

It's absolutely astounding that you are complaining about poor communication. I would add

"Total obliviousness to reality" as a general issue with most sellers today

You should go “f” yourself, I have listed many items for sale. Here, their, and eBay.

Never had a problem with description. If some had a question it got replied too.

You are a not someone I ever sold anything too, plus your someone who is on my personal do not sell too list because your a fookink troll asshat.

You sat on that Cohen for a while. Did you end up selling? You had issues with photos and words

It's ok, you have poor taste in language and cues

I have often see a cue for sale and it is never removed from the cheapo box case it came with. Many times it is just someone asking "I found this in my aunties attic...what is it worth? "

I have a gripe about people listing custom cue shaft diameters that are less than 13mm.

If the shaft is less than 13mm, I want to know if the shaft was made to that diameter by the cue maker or was it originally 13mm and the owner sanded it down himself or had someone else do it.

It is easy to change the original maker’s taper to something completely different when somebody goes to town with sand paper on a shaft.

7. Bumping an ad for a cue for 3+ months (while listing the cue on ebay at the same time).

Hey, if it won't sell here or on ebay, the current price is too high! If you refuse to sell at a lower price, then STOP BUMPING the ad, and relist the cue again in 6 months. Jesus, is an extra $400 really worth the effort to repeatedly bump the ad for 3-6 months??? What are you paying yourself?? $1/hr?? Heck, sell your cue at a lower price, then go deliver pizza for $10/hr until you make up the difference. Plus, there are gravediggers who will find your old ad and bump it when they ask you if the cue is still for sale!
