Drove up to Raleigh this morning to receive my first ever professional instruction from none other than the legendary Ray Martin. I have to say thanks to fellow AZer Mike Maaen for arranging the whole thing for me and my other bud Trinity Cole. It was truly an awesome way to spend a day. The experience will not be soon forgotten. Gas -$100 (F250) food and table time at Brass Tap -$45.00. Lessons from Ray- Priceless!

Thanks Ray! And Thanks Mike!

Nice. He really is a "Cool Cat".
I lived in Clearwater,Florida for about 12 years and we played in the same room daily. I played some golf with him numerous times on the big snooker table, and practiced 9 ball with him some.

Must say it was always fun and enjoyable to watch one of the great players play daily.

Was reading along with you, and in my mind I heard you saying "can't wait to come see you again to get the money". :)

Truely a deal-

Ray did write many good books too. 99 critical shots was the first I remember to have (great diagrams to use from the book. Lessons are priceless good luck mark

Nice post Chris. I had a great time with you guys and got alot out of the time were able to spend with Mr. Ray Martin. It certainly brought back memories of the glory days of 14.1 when champions like Ray were on the playing floor of the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC and my personal experiences with some of the greats. Looks like the pictue came out great!

Remember, Ray won his championships when they played 'Round Robin'.
You had to play everyone in the tournament. No lucky draws.
