My Scare with my Varney

I play APA leauge on Sunday...well I had just had a lesson with Scott Lee on Sat so i was flying pretty high. My brother and Father play on the team with me. Well at the end of the night we get to shoot for free ..Me and my brother play and i am just kicking his..azzz. Well it was funny casue he said before we played "Bro..you could have saved that money you paid Scott and gave it to me..i would have given you lessons" Well after the 7 to 2 shalacking i gave him he changed his tune..well he rushes out to the pool room ..i pack up quickly and follow him to rag him a bit before he leaves. Well the next week goes by and on Sat i play in a little 9 ball tounament at the Playing Field. Well i open my case and look in..i normally have 3 cues in there..My Lucassi that I play with a Lucasi i picked up for 40 bucks from some guy and my Varney..well i look in and low and behold .no Varney..My heart falls to my stomach..I retrace my steps back the hold week..thinking did i take it out to clean it or did it fall out of my case..then it hits me..when i was playing my brother i packed up so quickly to go talk a little poop to him that i forgot to break down my Varney..Ohh my god..I call information and get connected to the pool hall where i had my Varney last..i asked the lady.."Please tell me you guys found a custom cue last sunday..she asked what does it look like" I tell her its looks simular to house cue by design but is has some color rings and a special tip..not to mention the name Varney and my name on it..she ask me to wait,,time goes by so slow..then she says..yeah we have it its locked up in the office..you can get it when you come on sunday Tony. Oh my god..i was so relieved and then i became so Angry at myself for being so careless..you know ..I didnt even feel like shooting in the tournament..just because i didnt have my Varney..that cue has become a part of me...needed it to for a jump shot that night..damn..

Any one else leave or lose a cue and have a good happy ending story of getting your cue back.

Sorry Kevin..i will never take my Varney in Vain again and let it leave the comfort of my bussom.hehe
 
wow man you gotta be more carefull you'relucky you got it back. it's bad enough people getting their cues stolen when they turn their backs too long don't make it any easier on them
 
Don't let me mince words; Anybody who leaves a custom cue behind is a complete. moron for a night, anyway.;)

If the sky were falling, if the place was on fire, if I were on fire, I'd find a way to get that cue out of that building before the whole ish house went up in flames.

Don't let that happen again. Ever. You have to be more vigilant. People have all kinds of scams and setups to separate good hardworking people and their cues. Just look around here on the AZ, and you'll know what I mean.

When are you playing your brother again? I could always use another Varney. LOL.

Anyhow, I am glad you got your cue back. I'd be lost without mine too.

Reminds me of when a friend left his $1000 Schon in a bar. Maybe he was drunk or in a rush, but after his game was over he went to the restroom. He came out, picked up his cue case and headed out.... but hadn't broken down the cue.

Case was empty. He didn't even realize it until the next week. Cue's been missing since
 
A guy that I know had his Schon stolen at a Sat tournament. The following Thurs one of the guys was playing a tournament at a room about 25 miles away when a couple of guys came in trying to sell the Schon. Our guy got the cue back for his friend. The guys who had stolen the cue were so intimidated with the anger they faced in the room they gave the cue up without any hassle. Sometimes there are happy endings.
 
And i have no shame admiting i was a moron ...for a week even...i will never do that again...cause tonight my Varney did its job...race to 5 for 50 two sets...made the nine 3 times and jumped 7 shots during the match to keep him from getting ball in hand...thanks Kevin for a wonderful cue..but i will say changing my stroke is hard..I have been doing what Scott Lee showed me and It has given me confidence in my game..but its so hard not to go back to what you know worked for you..but i gona hang in there..watched my Dvd of my lesson...really cool..take care everyone

I left my Scruggs in Side Pocket one night. Left early, got home to practice a little and realized my case was light. Called Side Pocket and hauled tail back down there. I made from Short Pump to Side Pocket in about 7 Minutes.

What a relief. You are not alone, brother!
