I recently took a trip out to CA to see an old friend Frank Almanza who I hadnt seen in probably 20 years. I grew up playing in a pool hall called Shooters in Upland CA and as a kid I used to watch some great players play. One of those players was Frank. I really wasnt old enough to play in there (you had to be 21) but the manager knew I was pretty straight and loved the game. Anyhow - Frank was probably top dog in this place and I used to watch him play for hours. The way he would make the cue dance around the table playing 9 ball, and watching him play golf with pin-point position was truly awesome. I flew in to CA and Frank picked me up at the airport, we had lunch, and I got to play one of the best (if not the best) older player in all of California. I want to tell you what an honor it was to play you Frank and how much I enjoyed playing on your table (for those of you that dont know - Frank has one of the nicest home rooms I have ever been in). Took me a while to adjust to the 4 inch pockets (still having nightmares about that jawed 6 ball at hill-hill). Got spanked bad at one pocket.

Just wanted to thank you again publicly Frank for a wonderful afternoon of pool and catching up on old times!

Your right there, he does have a really nice room. That Centennial is awfully nice. Only place in Ca. that you can get trimmed twice, once on the table, next in the barber chair.

Looks like I'm spending Christmas in L.A. again this year. Hoping to see him while I'm there.
