Now if she tells you to go play pool while she does laundry and takes out the trash....KEEP HER!

What cue is that?

I like it!

A Helmstetter?

I like Chocolate too.

Helmstetter? Nope. But shoots just like one. You have to guess again. It's from the eighties or very early nineties and not a scratch on it. Original joint protectors too.

Veneered points: Four high, four low, all perfectly even.

EDIT: To the OP, sorry for the highjack.

Now I understand.

Nice cue.

The logo would have given it away.

I almost bought a used less 'fancy' one a year or so ago.

Best 2 Ya,
Rick

Well, Chopdock, I had a similar cue in the 90s...same collars...
...I asked the Miz about it...he was pretty sure Richard Helmstetter made it.

Looks yummy! All you need is a fat wedge of Cropwell Bishop stilton and a fresh baguette.

We both love that Cockburn's Special Reserve a lot. We even learned how to pronounce it properly after my wife's Welsh friend Gwennyn stopped laughing long enough to correct us. :o

Hah! I know what you mean. The wife still teases me about the name. I've got a bottle of the 2011 vintage downstairs waiting for something special as well.

Was it a "Professional Series" cue? Obviously these were not the ones sold in department stores. I am stunned at the quality actually. I would not have believed it. It actually does shoot a lot like a Helmstetter.

Mizerak licensed his name to Harold Miller, owner of Cobra cue. Cobras were made in Taiwan. But they had a Professional line as well that was much higher quality like this dove logo cue I got. I do wonder about the better cues in these model lines. They seem too good to be Taiwan cues. It makes me wonder if these cues were Taiwan made like the dove logo cues they sold in department stores. Is it possible they were made in Japan? Maybe even by Adam?

I don't know about that, but I do know I am tickled with this one. Happy to own it.

The catalog page is here, mine is the highest level apparently: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=4231829&postcount=10 I don't know when they started and stopped making them either.

I've seen a couple of Helmstetter cues with the forearm much like yours & that is why I guessed Helmstetter.

I was bidding on one that apparently was a SM 4 model about a year ago.

I have an Adam Balabushka that was made when Helmstetter was with Adam. I really like the way it hits. To me, it's just different & hence special.

Enjoy It,
Rick

PS I take mine with me when I go to the restroom.
