My X-Shaft warped, no warranty!

I sell quite a few cues a year and I also repair quite a few at State VNEA events...rarely do I get a totally straight shaft on my lathe when I am cleaning or retipping it. It seems to be the nature of the beast. I have built shafts for my own use with meticulous time and care in turning them down and still the wood will move. In fact I probaly did about 150 shafts at my last touney and maybe 6 or 7 looked like a laser beam on my lathe at 1500 RPM. I am sorry about your loss but I am sure Tiger doesn't even make these shafts but distributes them as their concept. Tiger is a reputable company and I think beyond the disapointment, getting back to the person that originally sold it to you might be your best bet. I have replaced shafts on cues that I have sold just to keep a customer happy and in my business who needs bad word of mouth.

I must be really lucky *knock on wood* because out of the 7 or 8 cues I've owned, not a single one of them has ever warped to any noticeable degree. Here in Colorado we get climate swings that you wouldn't believe. 20 degrees, 70 degrees, 40, 30, 50, 80, 10 all in one week. This would be the week that I don't leave my house because of the "biblical" weather. So my cues sit in the car all week, some not even in cases (I only have one cue now, but I've had 4 at one time). None of them warped, and they all played fine. Honestly, I don't take care of my cues at all. This is why I never spend more than 100 bucks on one. But I've subjected my shafts to abuse that would make most of you cringe. I cracked a shaft once (poor thing never did play the same again) and pawned the whole stick. Let's be honest, if a shaft warps a minimal degree, you could not function? Go play off the wall for an hour and you'll be begging for your warped cue. Believe it or not, this world isn't perfect. Strange and unexplained things happen all the time. Learn to deal with it.
