Myrtle Beach's newest poolhall. Shore Thing Billiards

Yes Windy Hill is closer than Cherry Grove. Ocean Drive does make more sense, it's the road along the beach that runs from Cherry Grove all the way down Murrells Inlet, it does separate though. Greg Dix is still the man, he just got back from Vegas for BCA. There are some others here on his level also. His father can still run a table also. Give Peteypooldude and I a pm when you're headed down. Please stop by. Ron

AWESOME!!!!! I go there to visit my Grandma probably once per 2 months, so I can't wait to go back! She lives on the Inlet, so it's a short drive.

Sure Thing Billiards had it's first tournament
Last night. They had 22 players and though it
Got started a little late it was a great event. The
Place and equipment is fantastic.
The results were as follows...
1. MIKE SLAUGHTER AA
2. Jessica Howell B
3. Little D A

whats the entry fee? is it handicapped, time

I'm still waiting for a reply from the owner and the person who runs it, so don't hold me to this yet. It was a small bar, 8-9ball tourney in Little River, it was $6 entry +50/50 quarters with a break-n-run drawing, it started at 9pm. I think with the new poolhall, it will be $10 entry +50/50 quarters with the break-n-run drawing. It will most likely start at 8pm and it is handicapped. We had an 8ball tourney for the first time Tuesday and alot of people showed up, we started at 9pm and was there all night so I think they'll start it earlier. Petey or I will post the new details ASAP. Ron

Ok, here is a link to the tournament section thread I just put up. If you have anymore questions just PM me. Thanks, Ron

Well Billy all I have to say is keep coming back in and your question will be answered automatically. This was my life long dream and I finally made it happen and my room I designed for pool lovers and enthusiasts, will always remain clean, and cold. We clean the tables every night, and I purchased a double ball polisher from Diamond so they get polished 3 times a week or more if needed! To say the least when you are racking the balls before you break you will see your reflection! Also, we do .50 cent happy hour everyday on the 7' tables, and Sundays it is always .50 cent pool from open to close. Our 9' is $5.00 a hour, feel free to come up and talk with me in person and shoot on it with me for a couple of hours my treat. I look forward to seeing you in the near future.

DAMMMNNN! $ 5.00 an hour on a 9 foot Diamond? I'd be there every day.
Kinda steep my arse! To play on a Diamond table around here, I have to
drive about 45 minutes and pay $8.50 an hour, and those tables were
from the US open sometime in the early 90's. I'll be down on saturday
evening, and will be stopping in sometime next week for sure.

Move on down Dom....the rates around here are pretty darn good. The places I play at average around 14 9 footers and the most I pay is $5 an hour to play on a 9 foot Diamond that is triple shimmed. No shortage of tournaments, players, leagues, action and pros. We only have a shortage on snow which I don't mind since moving from Chardon.

Eh did Frank close down his spot? Now next time I come up I'll have to play on the way up.

Hey bud, what's happenin? No, Franks is still open, and he just refelted
jaws (the nearest table to the front, and the tightest pockets) and it
plays nice, but sometimes I just get an urge to play on a Diamond. I
have nothing against those old Gandy Big "G" tables, but nothing beats
a nice tight Diamond.

Just workin and sweatin. Heard it was damn near freezing up there the other week. I hear ya on playing on the Diamond. The place I play has 13-9' Gandys, 1-5x10 Gandy and the triple shimmed Diamond. I tend to stick with the Diamond.

I'm going to be there late Sept. thru the first couple of days in Oct. for a wedding(not mine:p) and will make sure to stop in and say hello...
Best Wishes on the new venture!!

Hopefully, you will be here during the weekend of Sept 10-11, maybe?? The GSBT is hosting a $1,500 added amateur "GRAND OPENING" tournament at Shore Thing Billiards.

All of the details are here:

If you aren't going to be here during that time, def stop in and have a few cold ones and enjoy the new room! We love it and Brent and Ann are very hospitable folks. You will feel like it is your home room! :)
