this morning we're down to the top 6 players: walter glass, j.d doherty, brandon shuff, redgie cutler, austin murphy and jui chen.

This morning we have glass Vs. Doherty (match on www.theactionreport.com) and cutler Vs. Shuff.

Will update you on how it's going.

cutler took game one. Right now he and shuff are trading safes. In the glass and doherty match, doherty's big break took down three and left a wide open table. However it was a missed bank by glass that allowed doherty a last three ball run to win their first game of the match.

game 2: cutler / shuff

After safety trades, shuff ran down to the 8 but missed a bank. Now cutler found himself though having to play another safe as his position was not too great for a remaining 4 ball stripes run. But he left brandon a inside cut bank to a corner and it slow rolled right in making the match now 1-1.

after finishing day two strong both doherty and glass do not seemed to have found their Sunday morning rythm. Both men have missed a couple of east shots, but no doubt this will change as both are excellent players who have been around the game long enough to know how to adjust and get it together. 1-1.

Early morning plague! Cutler with 7 stripes on the table, but most clustered up didn't hit a rail and gave shuff bih on the 8.

Make no mistake though all these guys are monsters. Dang we're is the coffee when you need it.

the settling in phase appears to be over and we're seeing the players now play more warmed up.

After a slow start, walter glass is up 3-1, he has a steady style. Doherty is facing a tough cut on the 4 that requires a slight curve and cheat, but it narrowly hung giving the now more confident and comforable glass a chance to run out and widen his lead to 4-1. Stop the presses, glass left himself bad almost frozen on his 14 ball with only it and one other ball plus the 8 left. Forced to hike up and shoot down at 45 degrees with a lot of speed, he hands the table and gsme to doherty.

Shuff now appears to be in almost dead stroke, after a shaky first couple games and is leading 5-1 against cutler.

this morning is the story of who's waking up the quickest.

Walter Glass, while having trouble with his break, is outshioting doherty and is now in stroke. Glass 5 doherty 2. In the last game, glass made a tough cut on his last ball having to impart high inside to come off the shaft rail to break out the 8 from doherty's 4 ball. Dead perfect he fires in the 8. But doherty is a fighter and equally is a shotmaker and position player. With these gentlemen's years of experience in 14.1 and one pocket, if you can turn to theactionreport.com to catch the rest of this match.

Shuff has been dominating cutler and is ahead 6-2. But cutler and is up 7-4

Welcome Tx Poolnut,

Hold on... Cutler is coming back. The man took a shot of oxygen. But rattle a straight 7 ball that would also put him dead on the 8 in thesise. But...shuff with 5 balls on the table didn't end up with a great shot. Well I think both men are holding their breaths when they shoot. But cutler prevailed and it's now shuff 7 cutler 6 with shuff breaking.

Glass 6 doherty 6

Well, shuff whiffs his break giving the break to cutler. The break rotation stats the same, so cutler may get this and the hill-hill break should he win this game.

it's hill hill between cutler and shuff.

Cutler dry break
Shuff open table, picks stripes and in 3 minutes it's over. A cosmo runout.

Shuff win 8-7

Glass is up 7-6 and left the cueball so deep in a corner pocket if anyone even from the forms sneezed whether from LA or Manila it might fall in.

Missed kick by doherty leaving ball in hand to glass. Not without issues though. There are some clusters. Good back cut on the helped glass break his 13 from doherty's 2 ball. But a missed cut on the 10 brings doherty back to the table, but glass got a roll leaving Doherty frozen in the middle of a little cluster. Ugly.

easy. The 14 is blocking the 8 completely, both on the long rail near. The corner pocket. A 12,10, and 1 ball cluster near the head struck. Hang on yhis may be a bumpy ride. glass deliberately fouls to force doherty to break out some of the messes. Will let you know of his gamble paid off.

After two grueling safety games, glass won 8-7. Onward to the 1 pm matches. Walter glass versus brandon shuff and for hotseat Austin murphy versus jui chen.

Shuff has been in control of his match against glass. However walter glass, while the elder statesman of the final 4 moves the ball like a 22 yr old and is fighting back winning the last two to shorten the gap to shuff 5 glass 3.

On the hotseat TAR table, chen and murphy are tied 4-4
