If anyone has a couple pieces of curley purpleheart for sale, large enough to finish the butt/handle end of a sneaky pete...I'd be very interested in buying. Please send pictures and prices to hayden.mccall@gmacdirect.com
:-)

I fear if I get any public responses...someone might poach the wood before I get a chance to respond. LOL You wood addicts out there suck everything up as soon as it's available...evidenced by another post. :-p

Freakin' purpleheart hogs.

Thank you gentlemen.

Well Christ....don't everyone line up around the block with a piece or two of this stuff to sell to me. *arms folded*

C'mon...stop hoggin' the curley purpleheart.

I don't think mommy and daddy taught you folks how to share. LOL

The sizes you are asking for is part of the problem. Those squares Joey has in the pic are not that size. None of my curly purpleheart are that size.

2" x 2" x 26" is over twice the volume of one typical 1.5"x1.5"x18" cue square.

I can cut you some squares that are 26" in length, but they are only 1 5/8" thick. How rough is roughly? is 1 5/8" roughly 2" or would 1 5/8" not work?

You tell me. Unfortunately I'm not a pro at this. I need pieces large enough to fulfill the roll of being turned into the handle/butt portion of a sneaky pete with decent sized points. WOULD 1 5/8" work in your opinion?
I could use some guidance. I apologize if it's frustrating at all to exchange conversation like this with someone who isn't well versed in this subject.

First off, I am no pro either. Second, I am not hacking on ya, no need to apologize. I was just pointing out that the sizes you are asking for might not be easy to produce.

I have no experience machining squares for the use of full spliced cues, so I can only refer you to what Arnot said in the other post.

1.5 x 1.5 x 16 for the forearm and 1.5 x 1.5 x 26 [for the handle/points]

1 5/8 will work with wood to spare

I just wanted to thank everyone for their time and effort as it pertained to helping me obtain some curley purpleheart. I did run into a gentleman with an extremely large board, over 8 feet long that was able to cut all the pieces I could have ever hoped for at my desired length. Thanks again gentlemen.
