Need a light for my 9 foot table

I've got a 9 foot Gold Crown at home. I bought the table used, and the light new from the local billiards store. I trusted them and bought what they said I needed for my 9 foot. Well, after a couple of years I realized what they sold me wasn't enough. I have only two 4 foot flourescent bulbs in a wood box. Its crap and casts nasty shadows on the balls and barely lights up the end rails.

I'm looking for a new table light and I'd preferably like one that distributes light perfectly for a 9 foot table. Something like the slim Diamond lights but for less money. :) Anyone know where I can get one or where I can go to have someone make this for me? I'm in Austin, TX and would be willing to drive anywhere in the state (except El Paso) to pick it up or pay shipping if it isn't outrageous.

I asked this same question here 2 years ago and a guy contacted me and was going to build me one but then never returned my phone calls. :(

Depending on how much you want to spend, I would suggest contacting Diamond. I believe you can purchase used lights from them.

I was searching ebay and craigslist for several years hoping that I could bid on a Diamond Light, I never had any luck, until a thread appeared on this board about a pool room closing in Minnisota, and all contents were being auctioned off. I picked up a full size Diamond light for a great price.

Sure the the light could be made using 2, 9 foot fixtures rather cheaply but if you are not handy you have to rely on someone else.

The Diamond light is really nice and does a great job of lighting the table with no shadows along the rails. Contact Ray, AKA Big Truck as he probably knows where to find one at a good price. I got my table and light from him and he is great to deal with.

Do it right!!

I know the lights from diamond are pricey but they are amazing. I just bought a 9ft Professional and Light to match and I must say worth every penny.

Diamond Light

I have a friend here who has a large 9 foot Diamond light he would be willing to sell at a reasonable price if you can arrange pick up or shipping. My name is Mike (228) 872-0717

The diamond lights are badasss...but

I have 2 4'ers and they are fine. You might have luck experimenting with height adjustment.

How about the room- lots of lite coming in from elsewhere will make your table seem less lighted w/ such low (lumens? :o ) light.

I have many types of light fixturess for my tables over the years.

My latest is a Diamnond I put over my GCI.

It was super pricey and If I had the time I could make one much cheaper.

But it is by far the absolute best light you can get.

The table lighting is awesome and spread evely over the table.

Yes, The Diamond light is the triple nuts. I know someone that has 8 in storage. Call me. I'll give you their number. ;)

I'm playing in a tournament right now. Hopefully I won't be able to talk for a while!:D
