I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, please forgive me if it is not.
I purchased a dufferin conversion from an AZ member. After receiving the cue and playing with it for a few weeks, the finish seems a bit 'rough' or rubbing off. The person who converted this also tapered the butt to 0.840'' at the joint and around 1.21'' +/- towards the tail end. After visual inspection after a few weeks of play, I can actually see the 'sanding' marks from the sandpaper or whatever was used to taper this butt down.
My question is, what reputable cue maker can refinish this cue (BUTT ONLY), for an affordable price with a decent turnaround?
Note: I'm not interested in a 'weekend warrior' cue maker. No offense to anyone, I'm sure there are quite a few good weekend warriors, but in my defense, I bought this cue from a weekend warrior, and just don't want to take a chance.
Also, I offered this cue to my local cue maker and he declined to work on it without seeing it, due to him not knowing who originally worked on it and the chance this was the original finish - which he noted a 'pain' to deal with.
As always, any help would be greatly appreciated.
