Need help identifying this cue

oops here are the pictures.

Looks like rosewood in the butt, piloted joint, roommate found this at the bar, asked around, sat in the "lost and found" area of the bar for a few weeks, so they just gave it to him. Looks to be a pretty nice cue, no markings, and a little beat up, but hey, free is free? :wink:

The cue is pretty cool. Looks like an import as given away by the imitation linen.

But...the pics are poor so I could be wrong. Pics of the joint pin and joint faces would help as well as whatever is under the bumper.

To check if it is a Mohawk just roll it, if the butt jumps like a grasshopper then it's a Mohawk. LOL! :grin::grin:


I like the cue. Somebody walked away from that?

The linen is real...just old.
I have doubts it's an import. That's an American style bumper with a socket head cap screw retaining it.
Now it gets interesting. The butt-sleeve could be Br. Rose.
I've seen that forearm before, just can't remember where or when. Maybe one very similar. Predator-ish.
Yeah, better pics would be nice. If you're taking more, please get one or two of the joint.
If it's an import, well as you said, "it's free". If it's USA as I suspect, I also suspect that your friend got very lucky.
You should consider though that someone might be missing their cue.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll try to take some better pictures and take them of the areas you indicated.

To the point of trying to return the cue to the original owner, I've given that much thought. I posted on the forums of the local APA, and I've considered that the owner might see it on these forums as well. If the owner does happen to contact me, my issue becomes how do I verify that they are who they say they are? :(
 
You guys are good! After pulling off the cap, it says 2001 Prather. Now the 1000 dollar question, what's something like this worth?

I just sent an email to them today. The problem now becomes, the cue is 11 years old, and I'm thinking he probably wasn't the original purchaser. Worth a shot though.
