Hey guys im about to ship out some money for a Stinger J/B cue by Mcdermott and i was just wanting your thoughts on it of whether it is a good decision or not. and it would come with the laminated leather tip.

Does it transfer most of the energy to the rack for the max break or does it cause the cue ball to deflect off

Does it jump well or does it like to hold the ball to a masse

And anything you would like to add whether it being good or bad

Also i am not looking for replies of people selling one i just want to see if it is a cue worth the money. TY

I just bought one a few months ago and i could not be happier. First off it smashes a rack. Another thing is the cue ball control on the break. I can control the cue so much better with my stinger. Jump wise, it jump effortlessly. And once again when you jump with it you can really feel the cue ball control. All around i couldnt be happier. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

McDermot Stinger J/B

feels like a 2 x 4
sounds like a 2x4
doesn't quite look like a 2x 4 but close
feels like a 2 x 4.

That's all I have to say about that cue

Get an original!

Why don't you just buy an original Stinger from the inventor himself. He is a great guy to do business with and a wealth of information as well. He has also designed a new leather J/B tip that is BCA legal and IMO performs better than phenloic period. His website is http://www.jericopoolcues.com/
Good Luck either way!

I went thru 3 of these! Really liked the hit but I kept blowing the tip up. I would recommend a mezz dual force if you want a great j/b.

I just recieved mine yesterday so I dont have much time on it, but so far I love it.

Breaks and jumps great!

Mine is an original with his leather tip, I really dont know how different the ones from Mcdermott are.

Knew I shoulda charged ya more!! ;) Good to hear it's working well for ya...

My opinion on the McDermott Stinger (I was the original owner of Luke's), is that they jump REALLY well for a jump/break, and it broke as hard as ANY I've tried. I decided to give an OB Break cue a go (I already had a jump cue as well), and honestly the Samsara tip on my OB is a wee bit better than the phenolic tip on the Stinger.....if they had the same tip????? Guess I coulda tried that, but I had an itch for something new  I'd have no problem recommending a Stinger as a GREAT dual purpose cue!! (BTW, I blew up one of the tips as well, and McDermotts customer service was fantastic!!!)

I love mine, it does smash racks!!! jumps very easy and i can put any spin on it you want with the phonelic tip. no problems at all. just dont put the handle in a pocket when you jump, they have a soft finish on the handle and it dents easily. I have the ng02 model. just my .02. RK
