I have no idea who made the cues. I only know that my father bought it in Washington DC in the late 60’s.

Shes a keeper!

Your cue could be a Brunswick or a Katz, possibly modified by a cuemaker. The wrap, nameplate and Hoppe ring look great on that cue but I am not sure that they were original to it. I think these double butterfly cues were fairly common years ago and still can be found occasionally now.

Very nice cue and rare to see one wrapped.

I think most likely a Katz blank. Likely sold through National.

Also possible branded by Saunier Wilhem, or Luscher in that time frame. Could be other.

I collect these. Let me know if selling.

Doesn't appear suggestive of anything unique to the D.C. Area.

That said, I can't think of any even semi prolific cuemakers from D.C., in terms of style, quantity or renown...unless suburban md is considered D.C.

Thanks everybody for replying. Not sure what this thing is. I do know that the diameter of the butt end is really big compared to today standards.

Yup, older=heavier+fatter+shorter is generally true.

I have numerous cues of different eras and it is a lot of fun to compare how they feel and play.

I recently got a cue similar to this one with a Hoppe ring and no wrap. It is in minty condition. What really surprised me is how it plays. I was stunned. It really is delightful to play with. It isn't terribly fat either though, which surprised me.

You have a nice example there and it looks to be in nice condition. In addition you have sentimental value. Enjoy the cue.
